Make it Scary, Make it Fun

Record yourself playing a scary video game while speaking into a microphone. Use any video editing software that lets you trim and snip videos so that you compile all of the interesting parts of your video into a story. Get a good hour or so of you playing so that you make sure you have enough clips you want to keep to make a video around 8 minutes or so.

Pictures are larger than words

Try to tell a story without using the original audio of any clip. Instead, add some fitting background music and let the scenes tell the story visually.

Recite a story

Record yourself reciting different sections of a novel to quickly give the jist of the story or a subplot. They can be bits of dialog or exposition, but make sure they’re spread throughout the novel, so you’re getting a full storyline. Add music or sound effects in the background if you want, just make it engaging!

Make A Top 10 or Ranking Video

Make a top 10 or ranking video on a site like YouTube, Vimeo, or even TikTok. It can be on any topic you like (as long as it is appropriate to share of course): something personal to you, or something you enjoy like movies, TV shows, books, etc…

Include graphics, pictures, audio, and video clips where necessary. Make sure to explain your reasoning for each entry in the video either through audio or text. I recommend using free video software such as iMovie, Premiere Rush, or Canva to create this assignment.

NFT Digital Art

Using Adobe Photoshop, create an avatar or some sort of character. Next, design or clip different accessories/features onto different layers. Group the accessories into categories (for example: I used hats, glasses, different mouths, and different backgrounds- so each would it’s own layer and grouped accordingly.) Finally, download the photoshop composition composer master file from the internet (JXS file) and run the script. From there it will generate as many variations as possible.

Destination Poster

Using an editing software, edit a photo and crop to an 11×17. Then add text for the location or something fun.

warp text design

Using Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator or similar- find a photo you like and create text that warps to the shape of the photo. I used Photoshop and the pen tool to create a selection and then I added text to the selection and filled the entire space.

City Graphic Poster

Find or take a pretty photo that would work well for a poster. Bring it into Adobe Illustrator and make it into an image trace- I used low fidelty photo. Next, bring the photo into Adobe Photoshop and make any changes or add any missing elements- I painted a large sky using a gradient and low opacity brush to make it a poster size rather than square. Finally, add some text with city name or nickname- I added some fog on top cause it’s San Francisco and I also erased the bottom of some of the letters to make it look like the letters were sitting inside the city limits rather than floating on top.

Album Mashup

Create a mashup on GarageBand or comporable with multiple songs from the same album.

That’s Not It

Edit a scene from a movie or TV show to make it seem like the subject of conversation is something entirely different. A dinosaur in Jurassic Park? No, it’s a cat. The Death Star? No, it’s a watermelon. See how convincing you can make the new scene.
