Never forget those memories and times.

What’s your Skills?

Everyone has a talent, why not show it off? Why not show the world what you can do. Take a video of something that you can do. It can be either what you enjoy, have a passion for, or even a crazy talent that you think no one else can do. Have fun with it! You are showing not only us but the world what you can do. I did it. What can you do?

Turbo Charged Animated GIF

Are your photo editing skills up to the challenge?  Create an animated GIF with at least 3 seperate animation zones.  [See example here] I suggest starting with a simple movie poster, photograph or greeting card. You’ll be becoming best friends with the lasso tool and layers, so you may want to brush up on those.  This is definitely a 5-star assignment.

Audio Self-Reflection PARODY

Can’t stomach all those glowing self-reflections about what’s so great about DS106? [Assignment1119] Then why not have a iittle fun and make a parody? Record a 3-5 minunte “self-reflection” from the point of view of a disgruntled student, teacher, or open-onliner, etc. responding to the questions: Why are you here? What brought you to DS106? Why are you still here?  Start by creating an obviously fictitous name and location, then let ‘er rip.  Maybe use a different voice, and some strange background music.  Provide a thumbnail image that will grab the reader’s attention when they scroll down the list.  Here’s an example of a self-reflection you can poke fun at.  You can submit your parody here for consideration to be added along side the other DS106 self-reflections.

Audio Self-Reflection

Why are you here? What brought you to DS106? Why did you stay?

Share your DS106 impressions by creating a short 3-5 min audio self-reflection.  Add background music to personalize it even more. Want to meet others and hear what they’ve done? Pop on over to the DS106 Community Self-Reflections.

Advertisement for the scottlo podcast!

Everyone who has heard the scottlo podcast loves it, but not everyone has heard of it before. You need to fix that. Create a advertisement for the scottlo podcast. Make an audio advertisement (Or any media you want) that gives some basic information about the podcast. It needs to include where people can find the podcast also. If doing audio, add background music and sound effects. Upload to soundcloud and share it with everyone.

Inflate Your Language

This assignemt was inspired by the audio assignment. “Puncuate like Victor Borge” submitted by ampersanddragon.

Narrate a story using Inflationary Language. Becareful, be sure that your story contins enough “numerical” words to make the assignment worth it. The inflation should occur in just about every sentence to get full effect. Remember to give tribute to the genius of Victor Borge by using some lines from his skit on Inflationary Language.

Create a READ poster

Since 1985, the American Library Association (ALA) has tried to sell reading books as cool by showing celebrities reading their favorite books. You can read about the history of this promotional campaign here. Experiment with this tradition, introduce a celebrity with a book who hasn’t been recognized yet, but should be. Or use the poster you create to poke fun at a public figure, or do something else all together. have fun.
