Been There, Felt That GIF

This wouldn’t be a 2022 digital studies course if someone didn’t involve Encanto in it.

Don’t like Encanto… then let me kindly SHOVE YOU OUT THE DOOR

Now, back to the assignment. When thinking about a movie that is highly relatable, Encanto is the one to beat. Specifically, any scenes with the highly anxious and pressured Louisa. Yeah, we all related to Surface Pressure a little too much.

Instead of focusing on Louisa’s emotional breakdowns and her crippling self-confidence, I choose to focus on one of the two scenes where she is completely relaxed and in peace. And why not choose the one where she’s riding the unicorn-donkeys in the clouds. Here Louisa is, in all her glory.

The donkeys even put eyeshadow on. I mean, come on. How could you hate this movie?

I took the link to the Surface Pressure song off of YouTube and put it into Giphy. I then cut down the video to just this glorious scene and added the text onto it. I made it rainbow text to match the scene.

We have all had at least one moment in our lives where we truly felt relaxed. Whether it’s through a nice, long soak in the bath or through lounging on the beaches in Fiji, these moments of relaxation allow us to get through our stressful lives. I know without my moments, I would have long set the world on fire.

Blowing Chunks :(

I have selected to do the Been There assignment from animated gif bank. For this assignment, I have created a gif from the movie “Pitch Perfect.” I have chosen this specific scene from the movie due to an old and embarrassing moment I had back in Middle School. In Middle School, I remember I was super nervous about presenting this project in front of the class. As I was presenting, I made eye contact with one of my classmates and began to feel nauseous, which ultimately led to me getting choked up and basically “blowing chunks.”

Been there

The task: Take a moment from a movie that you can relate to and make a gif out of it.

My gif:

Oh look! I’ve been impaled!

You know that feeling you get when you suddenly remember something you have to do? that is super boring? that is super time consuming? that you don’t want to do?

Olaf represents that feeling of being impaled by your responsibilities extremely well in this gif.

How it was made:

I created this gif using a YouTube video and the giphy website.

The website was incredibly simple to use. I simply followed the onscreen directions and pasted in the YouTube link.

Then I isolated the section I wanted for the gif

and copied the provided link in order to embed it into WordPress.

Note: I had to use the WordPress add media tool. I was not able to just copy the URL into the post.

I can’t hide my face

I have a hard time of not showing my facial expressions and I feel Scarlet from Gone With the Wind does too!

GIF Assignment #1

Jurassic_Park_4_10_Movie_CLIP_Tyrannosaurus_Rex_1993_HD

For my first GIF assignment I chose to do the assignment titled “Been There” which says to “Take a moment from a movie that you can relate too and make a gif out of it. Emotions, expressions and embarrasing moments would work well!” I chose a seen from Jurassic Park that Im sure most of you are familiar with. I think we can all relate to this scene because theres always those times when you are trying to hide from your problems but not matter what they always seem to find you. To create this GIF I used a website called Make a GIF, it turned out to be very easy which I was relieved about because I have never made a GIF before. Just click on the image above to view my GIF!

For this Been There Gif I choose I scene from one of my favorite movies, The Sandlot, I have seen this movie numerous times and it never gets old. We were supposed to create a GIF that we can relate to, well I can relate to this one, because my friends and I actually tried this about 12 years ago at the pool, It didn’t turn out so well, apparently pretending to be drowning is frowned up and can get you in trouble.

I created this GIF through Make a Gif it is fairly easy to use, I choose the video from YouTube edited out the parts that I needed and then created my Gif.

Me, a Coach? Shut up!

It’s not quite the Princess Diaries, but there’s still the same reaction! Frank Sobotka just found out Ziggy’s soccer coach quit right before the big tournament! What is he going to do??

GIF Me A Coach

The object of this assignment is to create a GIF that shows feelings! Frank relates to this moment from The Wire when he finds out he is the new coach of Ziggy’s soccer team. To create this masterpiece, I downloaded season 2 episode 11 from The Wire off of UMW Media Hub. I then used MPEG Streamclip and GIMP. Here’s a tutorial.

When Its Time To Turn Up

This is a gif that expresses how i act when its time to perform somewhere. This classic piece is from the movie pootie tang, where Pootie have just arrived and is ready to kick everyones butt.

Glass case of emotion

I wanted an excuse to make a gif and being an open participant searching through the assignments I came across the “Been There” task. I immediately thought of that one moment in Anchorman ( I know, cliché right?) where Ron is calling Brian about recent occurrences. Which in turn reminded me of pretty much […]

Coming back to your old place

I decided to do this Animated GIF Assignment, I liked this one because I could take any moment like an expression, funny moment, or an embarrassing moments etc. A moment I would like to take is from the first episode of season 2 when McNulty comes back to his old place he used to work with his “best buddies” especially Sergeant Jay. This is the GIF I made below.

mcnultyback

Leaving a place you loved so much and made awesome friends but later on you come back and see familiar faces that leads to everyone that missed you so much, it’s a great feeling. I love it when someone comes back like McNulty did in that episode. From the start of the first episode of the first season till now, I love the relationship that Jay and McNulty have. They always cuss at each other but work together like best friends and coworkers should.

They are always helping each other when they have something in need. I remember one episode in season 1 that Jay when to his commander and told him basically to cut McNulty some slack and let him do his job because he’s doing fine. That’s what friends do. They have each others back.

I love it because I did it at my job when I used to work at Jcpenney. I worked with awesome people and had some awesome managers that I became best friends with. Especially my manager who’s awesome and I became close friends with, he’s Saleh. Ever since I started training, I didn’t know anyone and I felt lonely but then Saleh comes up and introduces himself to me. He told me he’s Bengali and I was like happy because I made a friend who’s Bengali like me. Plus we share the same last name but not related.

When I came back from Switzerland this past summer, I went to Jcpenney and I saw Saleh. It was great to see all of my friends I made because they helped me a lot and I couldn’t ask better friends/coworkers especially Saleh.  Even though we like different sport teams, we always have a strong bond brother relationship like Jay and McNulty has. They have each others back like Saleh and I did.
