Mash-Up Assignments: Animoji Karaoke

My go-to Animoji is the poop, don’t really know why it just is. Maybe it’s the way the top of the swirl moves every time your head moves but I just love that Animoji. I decided to do the song Know Your Enemy by Green Day because I was in a heavy metal/rock and roll mood and I always play Green Day in those times. I wasn’t sure how long the recording was supposed to be so I just aimed for at least 30 seconds then I went max volume and hit record. I have to admit this was more fun than I thought it would be.

“A Thousand Miles” Lip Sync w/ Animoji

For this assignment, I wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to use my Animoji on my iPhone. I created my Animoji to look similar to me. Even though, we have this function on iPhone’s I have not really put it to use. My character has the same hairstyle, hair color, eye color and skin complexion as I do. I think this is the fun part about creating these type of emojis. The idea of being able to make them look like you. The song that I chose to use for this video was “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton. I not only enjoy this song, but I like the scene on the movie “White Chicks” with Terry Cruise, where he sings this song.  I think for the purpose of this assignment, it allowed me to use a lot of gestures, while lip syncing the song. I think lip syncing allowed me to capture some of the emotion that the artist incorporated into the song as well.

After playing the song on my phone and recording myself lip syncing with my Animoji, I did some editing of the screen recording and then I was done with my mashup. I think one of the challenging parts of this assignment, is making sure that the lip syncing lines up with the actual song. While also making sure the Animoji captures every word that is being said. Overall, I had fun doing this assignment and it makes me want to use my Animoji even more now.

Feminist Singing Unicorn

For my last assignment of the week, I decided to choose one from the Mashup Assignments called ‘Animoji Karaoke‘. The assignment is to lip-sync to a song using an animoji. I love music, and this seems fun, so I had to do it. I used the unicorn animoji and lip-synced to “God is a woman” by Ariana Grande.

Out of all of the animal choices, I chose the unicorn. I made this decision because firstly, my favorite color is pink. Additionally, I see myself as a creative and fun person, and that’s how I view unicorns. They are magical and majestic. None of the other animals really spoke to me as much as the unicorn did.

I chose “God is a woman” by Ariana Grande because it empowers women. I am a feminist and would love to see that glass ceiling shattered one day. This song lifts women up and I believe is a feminist anthem. If you watch the music video for the song, there are so many references to historical things that are androcentric. Ariana Grande puts herself in the men’s places. I just love this song and what it stands for.

The process of creating this signing animoji was pretty simple. I just used my phone and lip-synced to the song. Then, I saved the video and posted it here. I guess the hardest part was choosing a song and animal that meant something to me personally. This was a fun assignment to work on!

Animoji Karaoke

This mashup was a bit harder than the other assignments this week. I love using the animoji feature on my iPhone to send funny text videos to my friends, but getting JUST the animoji by itself seemed a little bit difficult without sending it to someone. I didn’t want to send my friends a weird video of me lip syncing to a song… so the result I got is not the best, but you can still see my memoji singing lol. In my opinion, I think my memoji looks a lot like me with the long curly hair and brown eyes. And I pretty much always wear my hair in a pony tail since it basically has a mind of its own.

Animoji Karaoke

I chose this song because it’s probably a song most people know: The less I know the better – Tame Impala

Animoji

Friends on the Other side – Princess and the Frog.

This song is one of my favorite songs from Disney. It’s from the Princess and the Frog movie. I was wondering what song I wanted to use but most of my favorite songs contain explicit lyrics and we can’t have that. So I decided to pick a song that is family-friendly and this is definitely it. What I did for this assignment, Animoji Karaoke was I went to Youtube, found the song with lyrics, and went to the Animoji recording. I only had 30 seconds so I made the best of it. I did upload it here using the Media and Text button.

Animoji Karaoke

I liked this assignment a lot because I had never thought about using Animoji’s in this particular way. I picked the alien because it is my favorite Animoji. While all the other in emoji’s are real animals or robots or something, The alien is the only one that is more of a belief than a concrete thing. I chose the song wagon wheel because every time I go to a karaoke night at a bar that is the song I sing because I know every word.?????

Hips Don’t Lie: Animoji

5 stars

For this assignment, I had way too much fun creating! It was definitely the most amusing assignment I had this week, as I had to do a couple of retakes from laughing.

I went onto the feature on my iPhone on iMessages, and began recording by listening to music in the background (I didn’t need the lyrics as I can sing this song backwards if I wanted to haha).

To make this assignment even more amusing, I didn’t realize I was recording this feature through my boyfriend’s messages and sent it to him. He’ll probably get a good laugh from it too when he wakes up!

I then saved this video to my camera roll after sending it through a message. However, I didn’t like the way the background music sounded, so I decided to import the video into iMovie and using a youtube video converter, was able to import the song onto my video to make it sound more clean.

I imported the video to my camera roll, and lastly posted it to Twitter in hopes of amusing other with my masterpiece.

Overall, 10/10 assignment.

Animoji Karaoke 1980s Style

For this week’s Mashup Assignments, the first one I chose was Animoji Karaoke. I chose to sing along to Men At Work’s 1981 hit song, Down Under. I chose to use a Koala face as my Animoji because its only fitting for the “Down Under” theme. I also think I somewhat resemble a koala thanks to my round face and lazy disposition. This assignment was very fun and I got to use my phone’s technology to make something entertaining.

80’s Emoji Lip Syncing

I Believe by Cher

I created this assignment from the Mashup Assignment for 5 stars.

I used my iPhone to create an emoji of a self close-up. It was actually kind of fun. Then I looked through our music to see what was hip in the 80s. So, I chose I believe by Cher.

Sat in front of my TV on YouTube with the song with lyrics. Turn on the emoji which only has a 30 second recording time. Tried it a few times since I kept receiving texts during recordings. Sent the final video to myself and uploaded it to Photos.

I thought I could upload it on iMovie but it only played the song and not the video so I tried YouTube. That worked!

Enjoy!
