Video Assignment No. 2 (4 Stars)

In the spirit of Halloween, I decided to create a tutorial video for paper claws. I remember making these all the time as a kid. They’re super fun and easy to make. I edited this video using Windows Movie Maker. I trimmed the video and then added text where I thought was necessary. I then muted the actual audio from the video and uploaded a song for the background. The background song wasn’t long enough, so I had to duplicate it. I think I did a fairly good job of smoothing out the song transition so hopefully you can’t tell where the song ends and begins again!

Video Assignment – Origami

This assignment is to create a video tutorial for origami. The original theme was halloween, but I decided to connect it with my character, crafting him a paper gun for when his trusty Smith & Wesson isn’t around.

I found how to make the gun from a tutorial online. Since I don’t have any proper stand for my phone, I had to wedge it under some books and have it look down at my desk to record it, which is why it’s vertical. I also had some stuff that the camera was capturing, like my keyboard, so I had to cut that out of the video. It recorded upsidedown as well, another thing which I fixed in editing. The origami itself is fairly simple, just requires one piece of standard paper cut in half.

Origami Cowboy Hat

I completed the four and a half star assignment origami.

While it directed us to create origami for halloween, I chose to create origami for my character instead. I haven’t created origami art for a while and figured it’d be some fun.

I used this site to teach myself how to make an origami cowboy hat, which wasn’t hard to learn. The only hard part of the assignment was figuring out how to record myself at a clean angle creating origami. So I placed my phone on the edge of a desk focusing the lens on my origami area which was a book on the floor. This provided a visible area and angle where viewers could clearly discern how I was folding my paper. The end product is seen above.

Witch Hat Origami

Here is my origami assignment from the assignment bank worth 4.5 stars. It took a while for me to upload this video because it was too big to upload so I had to find a way to compress the size. It is suppose to be a witch hat by the way.

Halloween Origami

Video

I chose to do this video assignment, it is worth four and half stars. It involved making an origami something Halloween. I chose to do a bat. I thought this activity was relatively easy but it was fun to research different ideas and test what I could actually come up with. This video assignment connects with my host character because it just so happens that my host character’s favorite animal is a bat. He was several pet bats that he raises and cuddles with every night. Silly Gory Collins.

Origami

This video assignment is worth 4 stars and it prompt me to create an origami for Halloween. I know it is a little late for a Halloween origami but it is never too late for one. I create this assignment for the assignment bank and it will prompt a student to create a video of them creating and explaining how to create an origami for Halloween. I decided to create ghost origami because I did it previously and I though it was cute. The video does not look good because I shoot it using my laptop camera which explain the weird angle but I do not have anything else to record and if I use my cell phone I will not be able to use my two hands to do the origami. Then I uploaded the video to my YouTube account and I choose a music from them called How it Began, and I also choose a filter for the video just to change out of the color.
