Character Movie Trailer

In order to continue creating my ’80’s girl Lindsey’ character. I completed the discuss a film’s plot assignment to expand on some of the things she discusses in the radio show.

As well as this, I completed a trailer to introduce her and her character. The things that I felt describe her best is fashion and 80’s shows. So in order to create this trailer I first selected a trailer option in iMovie that added the background and text options. Next I added the text in the transitions. The first image I found was the image of a basic 80’s girl to embody Lindsey’s character.

Next I found a makeup tutorial of a girl showing how to dress and do makeup like an 80’s girl. I used a youtube to mp4 converter and then trimmed the clip in iMovie to make it look like Lindsey the fashion guru.

I then found a picture of all popular 80’s shows to use in the beginning

I then found pictures online of fashion trends created by 80’s shows.

Next, I found clips from popular 80’s movies and shows. I found the theme song from Magnum PI. I used clips from a Miami Vice scene, clips from a golden girls episode, a compilation of 80’s shows clips, and the clips I used to create my Back to the Future commentary. The last clip I found was from a disney clip, I used this clip to demonstrate the radio show aspect and the ‘on air’ portion of the trailer.

I added transitions and edited the music to create the trailer and then uploaded it to vimeo the create the final product!

Coming Soon to Theaters

Create a movie trailer based on your character and your class theme. For mine it was spy themed. So, I made mine about a cover for my character. I used iMovie to make mine and it was super fun and simple. Post it to YouTube then blog about! Be creative and have fun with it!

Assignment Bank- Video Assignments

“Secret Agent Squirrel” is the most anticipated movie to come out in 2020. Have you seen the official trailer for it yet?

In order to make this video, I used the Spy trailer template in iMovie. I have made a trailer in iMovie before, but it was more difficult this time because I did not have as much starting material.

This video is basically a compilation of squirrel videos. I found the videos on YouTube and downloaded them using this downloader. It was not too difficult to find funny videos of squirrels. I pretty much downloaded like three or four videos that were between 2 and 5 minutes long. I just grabbed different clips from those videos to put into the template in iMovie.

I used this squirrel video (which is pretty funny), along with this one, this video with a squirrel running, and (1) video with peanut butter, (2) another video with a squirrel and peanut butter.

Something that I found surprisingly difficult to do was come up with a title. For some reason, iMovie made it so the title had to be three lines with the template I chose. The original title I had in mind was just “Mission: Skippy,” but it did not work with the title video. Once I came up with “Secret Agent Squirrel,” I liked it better anyway and decided to go with that for the title.

This video took longer than I expected, but it was fun to make. It definitely meets the standards of a four-star assignment. I was a little worried at the beginning of the week when we had to complete five stars of video assignments related to the class theme or our characters, but I am glad someone created this assignment. I had never made an iMovie trailer on my computer before (I used my phone when I made one a couple of years ago), so it was new, and something I would consider doing again for another assignment.

The Cover of a Lifetime

For my first video assignment of the week, I decided to create my own assignment. Now, I created it before I saw that there was another one just like it already posted. It must of been created as I was creating mine, because when I typed in “movie trailer” nothing came up. Anyway, I created a short trailer on a cover story for my character, Flaire. If you have been following her story, you know that she is really into horses. This trailer is a once in a lifetime viewing opportunity of one of her covers as an equestrian. Flaire will be able to compete at one of the most prestigious horse shows in America, the Washington International Horse Show! Give it a view and let me know what you think!

I used iMovie for this assignment. It has trailer templates that I used. The music was also from the app. The images that are not of me, and I believe there are two or three, were found from google.

This was a very fun assignment to create. I was able to go back into the photo archives and relive some of my past competitions. I really like the hype that this trailer template gives everything. Makes me feel excited. Almost like I should create a movie to finish out the story. However, that would be for another day and another blog post.
