SuperCut it!

This week I made a ‘supercut it‘ video featuring Agent Ziva from the television show NCIS.  Her character is originally from Israel and English is her second language.  She is constantly trying to use American idioms and butchering them.  I haven’t seen this show in ages but used to watch it in high school with my parents and she was always my favorite character.  Unfortunately, the majority of clips available of the show are mashups of her saying these ridiculous things, but I still picked my favorites and cut them out of other videos.  Here’s the end-result:

My favorite is the “porcuswine and porcupig” mix up.

Motorcycle Race, Supercuts

Motorcycle Race

I created this super thrilling super cut of motorcycle race from different movies. I included both Hollywood and Bollywood movie scenes. I chose to do a video of motorcycles is because I am just fascinated by them :) . I have always wanted to own and drive one!

To complete this assignment, I downloaded seven videos from YouTube (using keepvid.com). Finally, I imported the videos into Premiere software and edited the videos.

Movie Supercut It “Breaking Glass”

This class assignment was to create a short movie supercut about movies scenes which has a certain connection. It could be any connection such as a rain scene or slow motion scene or laughing. For my supercut I chose to use scenes where the actors/actresses smash through glass. Most movie scenes have these relating scenes.  I used iMovie to edit the clips that I downloaded from youtube. It was pretty simple the program is very user friendly. This assignment can be found in the Video Assignments for ds106. Most of the scenes are from well known hollywood films.

JerseyShore Montage

Here are clips from jersey shore that show a repetitive theme. falling.

Lucky Number Three!

Title: Supercut It

Description: For this assignment I was asked to a supercut montage of overused dialogue, themes, motifs, filmmaking techniques, etc. for a particular character, tv show, film, and/or public figure. A supercut is basically a fast-paced montage of short video clips that obsessively isolates a single element from its source, usually a word, phrase, or cliche from film and TV.

Inspiration: I thought that this assignment would be fun and a bit challenging after I saw it in the Assignment Respiratory. I thought that this assignment would require me to go out of my normal comfort zone so I decided to just go for it. I decided to use ‘crying’ as my theme for this assignment.

Process: I went on Youtube and searched for a video that featured different crying scenes from an array of movies. Next I used the program Winx Youtube Downloader to download the video to my laptop so I could cut out the parts of it that I didn’t need. I accomplished this by using the tool Trim in Windows Movie Maker. Through this tool I was able to trim down to just the crying scenes. I then just saved the video and uploaded it to my Youtube account.

Example: Here are two previous examples of this project:

Jim Carrey

I Love You

I felt that overall they both got their message across in each of their videos. However, out of the two I felt that the first example was more effective since it was a bit longer.

My Video:

Screamy SuperCuts

Supercuts are a serious of clips which highlight a sertain aspect/clique/theme/line which is overused or just frequently implemented in a piece of media.

For my supercut I chose True Bloods Ginger. For those of you who have never seen True Blood, I watch it because I find it to be funny… though I don’t think it was meant to be that way. A common thing for Ginger to do is scream… at everything… always. I tried to tell a story of the day in the life of Ginger, opening the bar, dealing with guests and the varies vampires she works for.

Supercut It! (5 stars)

A supercut is a “fast-paced montage of short video clips that obsessively isolates a single element from its source, usually a word, phrase, or cliche from film and TV. For this assignment I had to create a supercut montage of overused dialogue, themes, motifs, filmmaking techniques, etc. for a particular character, tv show, film, and/or public figure. Thus, I chose to use the phrase “I love you” and used scenes from 13 going to 30, friends, gossip girl, friends, and one tree hill to complete my Super Cut!

Process: went through the scenes from my favorite movies then used the media to cut scenes that I learned from last weeks assignment. After words I combined all the scenes and uploaded it on youtube.
