A ordinary girl becomes a movie star

This is for the visualassignments. It is Nomal to Extraordinary.

A gilrl becomes an actress with green eyes and pink lips

I tried to make her an actress in an exoric world.

I used some effects on the person and the background separaetly.

The contrast is empasized and the color is darkend on the background.

The whole background is blurred to emphasize the person.

The color in her eyes and lips are changed to something vivid. Her face is illuminated by soft light by using filter function of GIMP.

Overall, I think the color seems like that of a film. However, the audience might expect more extraordinariness.

My friend Cat

This is my awesome friend Cat who i have known since the beginning of highschool i used photoshop and alittle bit of help from my friend who loves to blog and love taking pictures and altering them. with this picture i used photoshop which took a longgg time but i got to use some of the brush tool features and messed around with the different kinds of modes that they give you for example some that i used/tried out was using the dissolve feature, soft light, and hard mix feature. this picture that i got from one of the photos that she took for a photography class i altered to give her more “colors” which seem to work well with the black background that she used. i think the place where i got stuck the most was when i was altering her lips because i kept messing up and it would give off the proper transition that i wanted going from green to yellow which was very frustrating but eventually got it to what i wanted it to be. i def have to say thanks for my friend cat here who came over and helped me out with photoshop and learning out to use some of its cool features and for letting me alter pictures of her.

Midori to ExtraordinaMidori

Just realized I haven’t done any DS106 assignments in a while….:O

Assignment:

My second assignment is from the Visual assignment called Normal to Extraordinary

The instructions  tell us to :

¨Take a friend and turn him/her from a normal looking person to an extraordinary looking. Put the shots side by side for comparison.¨

I changed a little bit the instructions, because at 01 am (the time I was doing this assignment) no one, no friends were around me, so I just used an old picture of myself for this assignment

Process:

First I looked for an old picture of myself. So, I went to Orkut, a social networking similar to Facebook where I have pictures of myself when I was 16 years old :)

So, This is the one that I decided to use :

The reason is because, I wanted a picture that shows clearly my face so I can do some interesting stuffs with my face LOL

For this assignment I used the image editor,  FotoFlexer. First I added the patchwork effect!

Then, I changed the main color to green!!!! And the reason I choose green its simple because of my name…Midori… LOL. Anyways, after that I made it colorful even more

Well, yeah I was not happy with the result, so I played around a little bit and when I added the Fresco effect it became cooler!!!!!!

Story:

This picture was taken by myself when I was 16 years old. Yeah, I just remembered that at that time, I used to love take picture of myself just for fun LOL

Looking at this old picture made me realized that I haven’t changed that much :O

About the assignment, I really enjoyed playing around with the colors and see how my picture makes an extraordinary changes by just adding effects. It took me less than 30 minutes. Well, this assignment is simple so I could have make it in…maybe 15 minutes but, I don’t know, I think I was so into this, that took me 30 minutes to finish it.

Visual Assignment: Normal to Extraordinary

“Take a friend and turn him/her from a normal looking person to an extraordinary looking. Put the shots side by side for comparison.” I would say that extraordinary is subjective.

I used a picture of my dad for this photo.  In the left he is sitting in the airport eating a pretzel.  In the right, I took the pretzel out of his mouth using photoshop, and now he is “extraordinary”.

My inspiration for this is an Episode of How I met Your Mother, in which Blarney talks about how he never takes a bad picture.  Every picture he has the same facial expression, and it’s this suave, handsome picture. I wanted to do this for my dad, because clearly, the picture on the left is a little goofy.

Assignment worth: ***

Before and After: Visual Assignment 102

This is Jack, before and after. Just a little make-up and, boom, extraordinary. I personally like the mustache!

Normal to Extroidinary

shhh hes a ninja

To make this photo there is an app on my phone called BeFunkyFx! I uploaded the photo and chose the feature called HolgaArt and it created the two toned blurry looking effect to the image, i liked it best because it made it seem as if he had three eyes ha! To put the two images together i used this app called photocollage!

A little background about this image, it was taken on the night before my birthday and he was a buzzed!!! He is my twinn lol and i love him!!!

She is Always Extraordinary

Avatar

For my second couple of stars on the assignments for week four, I chose taking a friend, or in this case, my sister who is normal and making her extraordinary. I picked my sister because when I think of an extraordinary person, Cassidy automatically comes to mind. She is 3 years younger than me and my best friend; my world would be ordinary without her. She is my inspiration in life. She has the most beautiful eyes, in that aspect we are complete opposites, she was blessed with these big blue eyes and I got stuck with my dark chocolate eyes. I chose this avatar looking creature because this is one of our many movies, sometimes we will say, “I see you,” instead of “I love you,” because no one else knows us inside out the way a sister does.

I made her emphasize her long beautiful eye lashes with mascara, put a little make up on her (the sparkle around her eyes and in between her eyes, also the black lines giving a more avatar look), and the rest was done on the computer. She is the photographer in the family, not me, so I had a little guidance of how to digitally make this avatar happen. Once again, I used adobe photoshop, playing around with the colors, the brightness etc., and in doing that her eyes changed to a tint of green. I added a few lines emphasizing the avatar look, and of course made her blue!

Visual assignment # 3

ha! HA! I hope this is not a crime against humanity.  I took a picture of my little cousin Giselle and transformed her from a very gorgeous baby into a scary baby. I am really proud of myself. I used Picnik and an effect called the focal zoom! All you have to do is click on which art of the face you want to zoom out and then effects according to your preference.Enjoy!

Visual Assignment: Ordinary to Extraordinary Leigh to Leelzebub

The visual assignment that immediately caught my attention was the one where you take someone in their ordinary getup and transform them into something totally different.

Well, taking a cue from my good friend Leelzebub (and using her as my model) I’ve come up with a story (that she may or may not approve of :P )

Leighanne Ellis: College girl. Plays video games, loves her boyfriend, writes frequently.  Likes to make guacamole and eat burritos.
Leelzebub:  The devilishly mischievous one.  Plays pranks on her roommate.  Taunts her cat.  Turns heads and laughs loudly wherever she goes.  Feeds on bacon.

Both of these personas exist in Leigh, but I wanted to exemplify them both separately.  I hope I accomplished that :)

So what I did is pretty simple.  The first steps came from real life, where I forced my roommate to sit down and let me play dress up with her.  I curled her hair, did her crazy makeup, and put her in a skirt.  It was wonderful girl-bonding time.

Next, after the preliminary pictures were taken, I picked the two I thought conveyed the most “Leelzebub devil” side and began to edit.

The first thing I changed was the contrast.  I wanted her to look like she was coming out of the night.

Next, I changed the color of her eyes.  Free select tool, etc.  Then, used colorize to get the effect.  I did the same thing for the hair, which took a lot longer than the eyes did :)
