This is a photo that I took in America. I changed its color to monochrome.
Wow, it looks like an old photo.

Colorize Your World

As You can see, I chose my favorite cartoon characters, Tom and Jerry! I found this CC image from Flickr, and saved it as a Paint file.

How I changed the colors:
1) I clicked on the Color 1 box in the Home tab of the ribbon. Next to that are the Color 2 box and a list of colors to choose from.
2) I chose black from the list of colors.
3) Then from the Brushes box (with the down arrow) on the Home tab, I chose the first option (Brush).
4) Using the Brush option, I colored both Tom and Jerry with black! (although not completely)
5) Then, I colored both white by clicking on the Color 1 box and choosing white from the list of colors.
6) When coloring white, I used the Calligraphy brush 1 and Calligraphy brush 2 options (from the Brushes box)
7) I colored their tongues red. To color using red, I clicked on the Color 1 box and chose red from the list of colors.
8) When coloring Tom’s tongue, I used Calligraphy brush 2. For Jerry’s tongue, I used Brush.

This assignment was enjoyable and interesting. I also learned more about using Paint. There are indeed other ways of achieving this same result such as using only Brush to color their tongues and using only Brush to make those white spots. I did this assignment because many times, I tried to imagine how Tom and Jerry would look with just black and a few white spots instead of their respective colors, that is grey and brown.

COLORIZE YOUR WORLD!!

this is the fourth blog of digital storytelling 106!

this is how I colorized my world :)
one of my best friends drew the original drawing of me and the left words say “kosei ha sengen!” which means individual declaration.
so I wanted to show the EXACT my individual declaration through the color.
so it is “I am only who I am!” hope you liiked it!

My last visual/design assignment.. or not?

“To draw or not to draw, that is the question”. I hope no one came up with this quote already.. but shall i continue doing visual or design assigments? i guess so . it’ll help keep my creative juices flowing. well for now im going to do the visual assignment called colorize your world made by my fellow cuny york classmate. Basically we suppose to change the color of an image see how it would look in a different hue. I chose the character Winnie the Pooh. Basically i changed the hue of the image in my free editing program called GIMP. He looks like gummy bears yum! I also lined them up like that to give it that andy warhol effect.

Just Imagining What Color Would the Mood Be Like

?

Like, HOT, PASSIONATE, and WILD…

WELL, I’ve never seen an American Football game before, though… XD

The Girl Who Wanted to Be…

An Alien! (Not that this isn’t the case already, seeing as I carry around an “Alien Registration Card” at all times.)
Took a page out of William’s (mome) book and did a self-portrait recolor!

On the orange that wanted to be a lime

ds106 assignment on re-colouring an object.

Re-coloured from this image here:
Orange

My consideration here, as with the previous attempt was to start with an object that was already strongly associated with a colour, and then to break that association. As such an orange seemed like an ideal subject.
A quick search on flickr provided the required image, and I began to tweak the object colour in Photoshop (which didn’t actually take very long). When done, I decided to go a little further and add the “Lime” tag at the bottom, as well as the text, just to add to the subject of an orange’s change of colour.

On colorising worlds

ds106 assignment on re-colouring an object.

Once again done on Photoshop, with the considerations this time on taking something that seems almost inseparable from its original colour, and then changing that colour. The idea of the interaction between Mario and the red box is something that came a little after, following some thought on the character’s pose and how I could play around with that.
*Admittedly, this piece was not created specifically for this assignment, having been made prior for a Daily Shoot submission on the topic of “Yellow”. I thought it fit quite perfectly with the assignment goals though.
