What a movie this was. Hopefully, by now, you’ve already watched this movie. I would hate to spoil it. Possibly one of my favorites. Here we go.

It starts off with Tony Stark, clearly a badass, heading to a gun showcase in the middle of the desert.

After showing off his glorious weapon, they head back to where they came from and stuff hits the fan. He ends up captured by terrorists and brought to their secret facility.

At his time being captured, he was asked to recreate a missile that he demonstrated earlier. Instead, he makes an iron suit.

He escapes and makes his way back to America where he becomes the infamous character known as “Iron Man”, and seeks his revenge.

After fighting crime and defeating the terrorists who captured him in the first place, he announces to the world that he is the “Iron Man”.

Behind his back, a top official at his company “Stark Industries” begins to steal his technology. Which he then tries to use to kill Tony Stark.

End of the day, Iron Man was victorious. And remains to be the greatest superhero of all time.

For my third Visual Assignment Bank project I chose a 4 star assignment entitled Summarize a Movie with Animated GIFs.

I chose to summarize Sixteen Candles. I took some GIFs that were already made and then made a few of my own. While I have used GIFs many times before, I have never made one. I used a GIF creator online, selected a clip from the movie, trimmed it to under 20 seconds, and everything was done for me. It was relatively easy and fun to make.

As far as the story telling aspect, it is hard work to summarize a 1.5 hour long movie in 10 <20 second clips. You really have to think hard about the aspects of the film that drive the overall plot. If there were no limits I would probably have included 2 or 3 more scenes, but overall this gifs sum up the main plot line of the film.

Using 10 gifs to retell a movie. I chose to retell Coming to America, which is another wonderful 80s movie. I used my memory of the movie to google search specific movie parts and find the gifs to represent those moments.

This assignment I ran into some trouble. The sad part is, it wasn’t even over this assignment. I originally intended to do another assignment, which requires you to make a barcode out of up to 9999 images. I downloaded the required software and was immediately confused. I had no idea how to get all of the images to make the barcode. I did some research and looked at other blog posts where people had done this same assignment, and STILL ran into trouble. One blog post said to download a plug-in onto Google Chrome. This meant I also had to download Chrome, as I only use safari. I downloaded Chrome and the plug in, and destroyed my computers memory by trying to download hundreds of images. Once I finally figured out how to download these images, I tried putting them into the software to build the barcode, and it didn’t work. I then tried the process over again, and once again it did not work. I ultimately decided to delete all the downloads and plug-ins, and chose a new assignment. I knew I wanted to chose another five star rated assignment, because I have yet to do one, but there weren’t many to chose from. I eventually found this one and got to work.

This one was a sigh of relief. It was something I could actually do on my own. I had to think of a movie that I could recall enough in detail to portray into the GIFs. I chose The Greatest Showman because I have recently watched it and enjoyed it. Finding the GIFs was very easy. All I had to do was type in a few key words, and exactly what GIF I was looking for appeared. I just kept searching for GIFs to complete my story and wrote a short synopsis to bring everything together. I think GIFs are such an innovative way to show a story. You get a short little taste of what you’ll be seeing, and if you like it, you’re free to watch it as well and leave me a comment telling me what you thought of the movie and if my post did it justice!

I recently watched this movie and was absolutely blown away by how amazing it was. The music, scenery, and acting was phenomenal. I normally am not a fan of movies of this sort, but I heard it was one to see. So, one day my mom and I were in the living room and I thought to put it on because it would be something she would enjoy. Little did I know I would enjoy it more.

It starts off with two young kids in a reminiscent Romeo and Juliet scenario of being in love, but not being able to be with each other due to parents.

Eventually, they end up together after a significant time jump happens to when they are older with two little girls to call their own.

The two little girls think of their father in a very high regard. However, he loses his job and their financial state is in trouble. He then buys an old museum to hold his big dreams.

After buying the museum, he has the great idea to make a common day circus. He searches for people with many talents and anyone who holds any oddities. He finds the perfect people for his show, and it becomes a hit.

However, the people in the show are soon scorned upon by the locals. This does not stop them, as they have found their family in each other. Then their ring leader soon starts to find interest in a new act.

The ring leader, P.T. Barnum, abandons his family and show to follow his new act, Jenny around. This soon turns sour and Jenny shows she is done with him. He returns home to his family, where his wife tries to leave him and his home has gone bankrupt.

After this, things really start to fall apart. The locals riot and set his museum on fire.

He now has lost everything. Until his partner reveals he can save the museum, and they become co-partners and split everything 50/50. Barnum states that they don’t need a building, all they need is a tent, and they restart the museum.

He gets his family, circus, and friends back and all is well.

For this assignment I was tasked with telling a story of a film using only Gifs. I wanted to incorporate my created character into this specific assignment because I think it would be a cool way of physically showing my characters backstory. So I will be taking gifs from other films and putting them together to tell Rocket Richards story. Each scene will be labeled with an explanation. In total there will be eight gifs each highlighting important events in Rockets backstory.

Gif 1: As a young boy Rocket was bullied and harassed.

Gif 2: Rocket found happiness in watching and playing hockey with his father.

Gif 3: Rocket finds joy in hockey but inst very good.

Gif 4: Rockets father dies.

Gif 5: Rocket visits his fathers work frequently to cope with the pain.

Gif 6: Rocket gets hit by something falling off of a rocket.

Gif 7: Whatever hit Rocket made him strong, fast and agile.

Gif 8: Rocket becomes extremely good at hockey because of his new powers.

Overall I found this assignment to be very fun, creative and engaging. I loved the idea of incorporating my character as it seemed like I was making my own movie via other movies gifs.

For this assignment, we have to tell a movie in 10 GIFs. I chose to tell the movie of Coco in GIFs because it is one of my favorite movies, and because I can tie it into my character. As some of you may know, my character I created last week was based off and inspired by Coco, The Jungle Book, and Peruvian culture. I wanted those of you who have not watched Coco to get a general sense of what the movie is about through the GIFs while still being able to relate it to my character.
