up to no good.

during my vacation, i stopped by the VA Beach Aquarium with my best friend. the both of us have wanted to go for over a year. since i was there, we took a little trip.

overall, the aquarium was a great experience, especially since it was my first time. towards the end of the trip, we came across a bird exhibit that had a chaotic display. from the materials within the set up, it was probably a bird or duck shop? it seems like a great guess from all the duck pictures inside the layout. oddly, there was no glass to separate the display from the visitors. instantly, i had a brilliant idea! let me walk you through my memory as represented by the pictures;

‘Hmm.. there’s no glass in this thing. OMG! This would make a great picture, Meshia. I’m going to climb in there somewhere and you can take the picture. Oh, look there’s a chair in there!

There’s not too many people here, so I’m sure I won’t get into trouble. I don’t see anyone around. Okay, I’m going in..

Okay, hurry and take the picture. Wait, I have to find a good pose firs… Oh. My. Gosh. Are those security guards? I am not moving. I am going to pretend like I am part of this duck shop exhibit. Wow, that worked? They just passed us.

Oh, yeah! I did it. This welcome pose should do.

Can you please back up a little bit and get the entire display with the words on top? Thanks.

in order to create the collage, i used photovisi. after several failed attempts to use flickr, photobucket and my instacollage app through my phone, i googled for a collage website and found photovisi. the pictures used in this collage was edited through the instacollage app in my phone. it was easier for me to edit that way and i wanted the consistency of the sizes of the pictures. after editing all five pictures, i sent them to my e-mail and uploaded them.

all of the pictures were taken by my iPhone 5.

When We Were Young

    64 years later

This couple started out meeting in their favorite stop on the way home from day care: the millkshake shop called Marko’s. As soon as they laid eyes on eachother they knew that they would be willing to share crayons. Years went on and they shared many things. Their first kisses, their first fight, their first loss when his grandma passed away and they stayed on the phone all night, their first run in with the cops when they got busted for under age drinking, their first apartment, their first home, their first baby, their first grandson. When asked whether or not she thought there couldve been someone else for her, the woman replied “Nobody couldve come close to what we had, we had a love for the ages. Im afraid his time here on earth is over, and I fear mine is over as well. We are ready to move on to the next step together.” She swiftly drank poison with a smile on her face and her soul mate’s cold hand in her hands. They lived their lives like they should have, they lived alive, they lived in love.

Before and After

This before and after assignment originates from a two gif post (featuring popular Harlem Shake craze sweeping the internet) from my tumblr. I simply took a snapshot of each gif and put them side by side using Photoshop. It features a few of my favorite characters in lego form. Enjoy!

Prepare for impact…..Visual Assignment

This picture always brings a smile to my face….even if it shows my friend and I colliding into each other.  In softball it is important to always call the ball…if you dont many times players collide and often one of them if not both get injured.  In this picture a ball was popped up into foul territory and both myself and the catcher went after the ball…..we both did not hear each other calling for the ball…so we collided.  The most important thing about this picture is that the ball was caught :) .  Another thing that came from this incident is the phrase “magical pitching bubble” which is now what I am confined to when a ball is popped up in foul territory.  I love my catcher and this image that was created, it brings back memories for the both of us.

To create this picture I used photovisi.com to merge the photos together and then downloaded it back into iphoto.  From iphoto I uploaded the merged image onto flickr where I tagged it with specified tags to allows for the public to see it.

Before…After

Sooooo I am not as flexible as I used to be. I tried doing this and almost threw out my back! But it was fun…and funny to see the pictures afterwards. For this one I had my camera set to where it takes a bunch of photos in like 30 seconds, like a movie in images. I then picked out the two that I best thought represented my before and after shots of attempting to do a backbend. I cropped them down to size and that was all the editing that needed to be done.

Before
Ahhhhhhhh…….

See this picture doesn’t explain the pain or agony that came with me slamming my wrist in the doorway. I enjoyed doing this project because it allowed me to take pictures and have imaginative freedom as so as the last project. It was ironic that I did this post because I literally got my wrist wrapped yesterday and I was thinking about what to do on my nest post. Its a 50/50 for me being happy about my wrist because the happy side is that i have pictures for my post but the sad part is that I hurt my wrist a couple of days ago. DS106 is a great source for imagination and creativity when it comes to activities/assignment to put onto your next blog post
