This was a cool and insightful assignment. I actually learned something new about photoshop in this assignment. I chose a picture of naruto (anime character) and used a sketch tutorial to create a actual sketch version of the original vector. The tutorial is Use Photoshop To Make A Picture Look Like A Sketch 2 STARS [...]
I created this image using photoshop and following a brief tutorial I found online.
Credit goes to the legendary Alex Ross for this image. I love his art because he makes things look important. If you’re not familiar with his art, I highly recommend googling his name. This image is a recreation of the Marvel/DC crossover “Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man: Battle of the Century” cover.
I was inspired to do the 2 star worthy Visual Assignment Draw It, from the ds106 Assignment Bank, after reading Cole Wyrough’s blog post, Online Sketching.
I decided to do a flower set of photos, so first, I chose the pictures I wanted to use. I then opened Picasa and edited each one by clicking Pencil Sketch.
Once I did all the photos, I put the old and new ones side-by-side, so you could see the difference, and uploaded them to Flickr. Enjoy!
For this assignment we had to turn a photograph into a sketch. Here’s what I ended up with.
I had an app on my phone called Picture Effects Magic that has various filters to change the picture. I used the lighter picture again because it was an interesting photo. Then I loaded it into flickr from my phone and that was it. Then I decided I wanted to add more and did all of these…
I love this assignment. You can transform a picture into a drawing with the click of a button…PRETTY AWESOME. Here is a picture of myself with friends. We were climbing a tree (or more like posing on a tree)??!! I used BeFunky photo editor to take a regular picture and transform it in a DRAWING!
For this Visual Assignment I we were asked to use a previous photo that we have taken and make a sketch of that photo.
Inspiration: I choose to use a photo that I took in France of a statue that I thought was really cool. I statue is of Trident (the famous ruler of the Sea).
Process: To make the sketch I used a program called Dumper where it automically and create cool effects on your photos without having to download any software! All you have to is select the effect and then upload your photo and BAM your done!
The fifth and last Visual Assingment I did for this week was titled, “Draw it.”
This is another one that I found through the “try random one” button and I really thought it would look awesome. I really liked the picture that was used in the assignment, the lion looks SO fierce. Pictures that look like they’ve been drawn are definitely not as cool as ones that have, but I like the effect anyways. I figured I could easily take a picture of something that I thought looked cool and see how it would look if it was “drawn”. I know that there are many artists in the world, but I know personally I could never draw a lion that looked that good. I guess I feel that there are apps that help with things like that for people JUST LIKE ME.
I have a MacBook (yes I am TEAM apple…) therefore I just used my Photobooth and the “Colored Pencil” effect and took a picture of something in order for it to look “sketched”. I chose the window because I thought it looks likes something that could easily be drawn or sketched. It would be easy to imagine someone drawing a window. It was mainly my thought idea that helped me with this visual assignment because I interpreted it as something that was not too difficult to picture “drawn”. For example there are MANY drawings that occur of lions or other animals… a window isn’t anything different. I have also used this effect on pictures of me and my friends, it actually looks pretty cool. If someone wanted to do this assignment, there are many different apps that can be used. It also isn’t hard to find a picture online that you may just THINK is cool to “draw” or imagine as a picture that someone drew.
