Assignment Idea

Make My Day

Plan your perfect day. Use either pictures you have taken, ones you draw, or ones from another source. Outline what it would be first with a schedule and then add the pictures with more specific details of what would be occurring.

But First, Let Me Take a Selfie

The term “selfie” has become very popular within this generation. Google defines the term as a photograph that one takes of oneself with a smart phone or webcam. For this assignment, there will be a compilation of video, selfies and music. First, record a scenario where it would be a bad time to take a selfie. Then, insert at least ten selfies with different moods, expressions, filters for each one. Then, compile the video recording and photographs into a video. Lastly, insert the Selfie Song song where the words match up to yours.

I have attached an example for this assignment.

A Game of Reviews

People write game reviews for a living – now it’s your turn! Write a review of a game, any game – it can be a Triple-A title or something that you played once and never again just because it was so bad. The challenge comes with other requirements:

1) There are four categories that you should focus on (there can be others of your own design, these are the core): Gameplay, Plot, Music, and Graphics.
2) Judge each of these individually on a scale of one to ten, ten being amazing, and justify in-depth why you gave each score.
3) This is extremely subjective, so the game you review MUST be one you have played.

To commenters: If someone doesn’t like your favorite game, please don’t flame the reviewer. This is supposed to be for academics, and meant as an analysis of what the writer thinks broke or made the game for them.

Your Blog in A Poem

Write a poem about your blog.

It should be over 10 lines long.

Use any rhyme scheme, rhythm, meter, line length you want.

The poem should reflect your blog.  It should include things like the color, the shapes, the simplicity or complexity, the textures and fonts, anything that makes your blog unique or not unique.

Since it is a poem about your blog, record you reading it.  Embed the audio in your blogpost.

Reverse Audio Quiz

Hey guys this assignment is pretty simple, if you can figure out the answer. Find an audio file and reverse the music. Once you have reversed the music place the file in a blog post and give three hints as to what it is. See who can figure it out first!

Surreal Panorama

Create a surreal panorama by first making a panorama (duh), and then munipulating the photograph to make it out of this world. However, don’t go out and just make a panorama via your iPhone!!! Take some pictures and mash them together!

Name that Book!

For this assignment, use the app Vine to visually create a book title. Find objects, landmarks, or think of some other creative way to verbally or physically represent a book title. Then record them in quick succession using the app. Then upload the video and have your classmates guess the book title! (By the way here is the answer.)

Home Video Gif

For this assignment, you will need one thing that eveyone has. A home video! Choose a video that you have filmed yourself and create a gif from that video. Instructions for how to complete this assignment are linked to this page!

The Healthy Vine Challenge!

The Healthy Vine Challenge

Create a Vine video that illustrates you cooking a complete meal! You must include a meat (or protein source, if you have a personal preference or dietary restriction), a veggie side, and a healthy side of your choice. Take two 2-second clips of the meal preparations, then one 2-second clip of the final product, in all its glory!

**Remember: This is only a 6-second video, so stick with capturing three separate 2-second long clips.

First, if you don’t already have the application, Vine, then download it on your smartphone or via https://vine.co/.

Next, follow the steps of the application’s tutorial. It will give you specific directions on how to record individual video segments. When you are ready to begin, make sure you are on the app’s camera setting.

When you are finished recording your clips, the finished product will be a back to back video of everything you taped! It’s a really fun way to capture the highlights of whatever you’re doing, wether you’re at a concert, a family dinner, or just sitting in your living room, Vine is a creative outlet for anyone with an appreciate for how new digital technologies make cinematography so much easier!!

Once you have your finished product, e-mail the video to yourself. If you have a smartphone, then the video will automatically be saved in your photos. If you don’t, then e-mail yourself the URL. That way, you can easily embed the video into a blog post.

In this post describe why you chose the ingredients that you did. Also, explain your thought process. Did you wing it? Did you follow a recipe? Had you made any of it before? How often do you cook healthy foods? Talk about whatever you want regarding your experience with the Healthy Vine Challenge. The catch is you can only use a maximum of 250 words. That’s a small amount of words for a thorough explanation, so choose your words selectively– just like you did with your ingredients ;). But above all, be creative!

Create Your Dream Vacation on Pinterest!

Create A Pinterest Board Of Your Dream Vacation
This is an assignment for dreamers!

If you don’t already have a Pinterest account, create one! Next, take a moment and contemplate where you would want to go. A vacation does not necessarily mean you have to select one place to travel to. It can involve a variety of locations.

Start off by creating a “board” for your dream vacation. All you have to do to create your board is click the “create a board” option on your main profile page. You could title it “My Dream Vacation,” like I did, or come up with something more personalized. You can select a category, such as “travel,” if you want, but neither a category, nor a description, are necessary to continue.

Next, try plugging keywords into the search box on Pinterest for cities, countries, specific landmarks, attractions, etc. and “pin” your favorite images/travel blog links/recipes/etc. onto your new board! To pin, hover your mouse over the image and a red “Pin it” button will pop up in the top left corner. Go ahead and click on it.

**The purpose of these pins is to give Pinterest subscribers access to a variety of recipes, photography, travel guides, blogs, literally EVERYTHING digital.

Next, Pinterest will ask you which board you would like to pin it to. Make sure you select the board you created for this assignment. You can either keep the description the pin came with, or create your own! Completely up to you. And lastly, just click the red button again, and you will have successfully added your first pin! Congratulations!

Keep searching and adding pins until you have developed a solid amount of things to do/see/eat on your dream vacation!

Next, embed a link of your “Dream Vacation” Pinterest board in to a blog post and write out a brief summary of the trip you desire. It’s up to you what you want to write about, but some ideas would be:

– Talk about if you feel like this trip will be possible for you someday, why or why not?
– What is required for your dream vacation to come true? (Don’t just say money, do your research.)
– Do the place(s) you plan to go have a different native language? If it’s an exotic trip, are there legal requirements, such as shots, visas, etc.?

Really get to know your dream vacation– maybe it’ll happen someday!

Here is a link to mine. You can use it as an example or simply enjoy it!!
