DS106 Radio Commercial

Create a commercial featuring an item that you have invented that would be extremely useful to your favorite movie or TV Show character. Try to be as creative and abstract as possible. Must include sound effects or background music and be at least 20 seconds in length.

Teezee Reference

Find an audio clip from a show or movie outside of the Twilight Zone. See example from the Everybody Loves Raymond episode, “Standard Deviation.”

Advertisement for the scottlo podcast!

Everyone who has heard the scottlo podcast loves it, but not everyone has heard of it before. You need to fix that. Create a advertisement for the scottlo podcast. Make an audio advertisement (Or any media you want) that gives some basic information about the podcast. It needs to include where people can find the podcast also. If doing audio, add background music and sound effects. Upload to soundcloud and share it with everyone.

Inflate Your Language

This assignemt was inspired by the audio assignment. “Puncuate like Victor Borge” submitted by ampersanddragon.

Narrate a story using Inflationary Language. Becareful, be sure that your story contins enough “numerical” words to make the assignment worth it. The inflation should occur in just about every sentence to get full effect. Remember to give tribute to the genius of Victor Borge by using some lines from his skit on Inflationary Language.

Car Chase Commentary

Take any video. (The worse the video, the easier this is. Look for something with virtually no action. If it’s exciting, you’ll never keep up.) Add your voice over as if you were a local TV news anchor attempting to provide color commentary without stating anything overtly factual. Add all the hedge words and banalities that exemplify this kind of coverage.

All Me in the Scene

Create audio for a scene where you play all the roles with different voices and characteristics.

Row Row Polyphony

An imitative polyphony can best be described as when you were younger in music class and the teacher would have one side of the class start singing “row row row your boat” and then part way through the song have the other half of the class start singing from the beginning. It is basically two similar melodies sung at the same time, but at different points.

So and So’s Greatest Hits

There are some bands/musicians/artists out there who constantly make solid songs/albums. Using Audacity, pick a band/musician/artists and create a mash-up of what you consider to be some of their greatest hits. It needs to be at least 5 songs (if you can’t find 5, then they might not be as great of a band as your think they are) and at least 5 minutes, but feel free to go over if the music is groovin’. Upload to soundcloud and introduce us to your favorite band and their songs! Have fun!

Storytime! SongTag Style

Make a story using at least 5 different songs, the SongTag style.

Try to make the songs around a theme, for example, a story created using songs by Sondheim or things you work out to at the Gym or your favorite musical guilty pleasures.
