Reverse Audio Quiz

Hey guys this assignment is pretty simple, if you can figure out the answer. Find an audio file and reverse the music. Once you have reversed the music place the file in a blog post and give three hints as to what it is. See who can figure it out first!

This was quite easy in the aspect of audio editing. I again get to use my favorite artist in my work

1- My favorite artist

2- Released last year

3- First word is power

REVERSE IT

I made this using audacity. Can you guess what song it is?

Reverse Audio Quiz

For this 3.5 star assignment, I did the Reverse Audio Quiz assignment. I did this assignment because I thought it’d be interesting to have a segment of our radio show where it’s like a game during the show and people must guess what superhero theme song we are playing backwards.

This one is pretty simple to guess, but the first person who guesses which theme song this is will have a feature on my weekly summary next week.

I think this assignment interesting and I love how everyone gets super involved in radio games. I know I do, if I hear one, I automatically want to call in and if I get an answer wrong I get mad at myself, but I thought this would be fun to try to do.

Here’s a link to my reversed audio:

Reverse Audio Quiz

Can you name that song from Khalid’s newest album??

Reverse Audio Quiz

Can you guess this peppy tune’s original title?

If you want to try guessing, you probably should before reading the next paragraph! It might give a little too much away.

This assignment seemed like fun; I wish I had a deeper reason than that, but I really was just excited to this because it seemed entertaining. I picked this particular song because I was curious about how it would sound reversed, and whether it would be as distinctive. It’s a song that a person can recognize in a heartbeat. This is also one of those songs that always makes me feel better if I’ve had a bad day, or helps wake me up in the morning. I also respect the singer, for his philanthropy, his music, and his attitude despite the opposition he faced for his sexuality. Therefore, I had a really good time with this assignment.

To reverse this audio, I used Audacity. Opening up the application, I then opened up the file of the song that I wanted to reverse.

Next, I went up to ‘Effects’ on the menu and clicked ‘Reverse’. Listening to the track after this was very entertaining!

I didn’t want to post the entirety of the song, so afterwards I needed to choose a part of the song to cut. By highlighting over parts of the song I didn’t need, then clicking ‘Edit’ then ‘Delete’, I got the song down to less than a minute.

I exported my audio as a .WAV file and uploaded it to Soundcloud. And the rest is up to you to guess!

Guidelines for this assignment can be found here.

Reverse Audio Quiz

For the second assignment of the week, I decided to do one where I take a song, reverse it, and take a small snippet (30 seconds), and see if someone can guess what song it is! My thinking was to choose a song the has very level high and low peaks. That way, if it is reversed, it will be pretty hard to tell just off of the instruments. So the first thing I did was to pick a song (in this case I can’t tell you which one it is!). I then opened the mp3 file in Audacity. Go up to the Effects tab and choose “reverse.”

Audacity will automatically reverse the song for you and then highlight the sections of the song you want to cut away and click the scissors icon. Cut it so you get it down to 30 seconds and that’s it. See if you can figure out what song it is! I will post the soundcloud link to the original song underneath the reversed song if you want to her what it was!

Reverse audio

The first assignment from the assignment bank this week that I did was called reverse audio quiz and is worth 3.5 stars:

http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/reverse-audio-quiz-2/

For this assignment you have to take a song and reverse it through Audacity. This was pretty easy, but finding a song was really hard. I looked through a royalty free website and found a coolĀ song to reverse. The song is called By By Baby. This was a really cool assignment because I got to listen to it forwards and then backwards and it turned out really well

Reverse Reverse!

I didĀ the Reverse Audio Quiz and now your job as the reader is to try and guess the song by listening to it reversed and also with the help of three hints.

My three hints are:

  1. This song is from the genreĀ Vaporwave, so as a result it samples old 80’s music and slows it down and repeats it this video linked here is a pretty good explanation of what it is.
  2. If you search “aesthetic”, theĀ album it comes from is one of the top hits on Google’s image search
  3. It’s title is referenced by typing into Google Translate in the video linked

This assignment was pretty simple to do. Audacity already has a reverse function so it’s pretty straightforward. I didn’t want this song to be too noticeable on what it is, but I wanted the off chance that someone has probably heard it. The song had gotten pretty popular on the internet and had made its rounds on social media, often times without the title being given. This will add a few levels of difficulty to the discovery of the song.

Whatā€™s Melting in Reverse?: ā€œReverse Audio Quizā€

For this 3.5 point audio assignment, I was instructed to reverse a recognizable song and provide three hints as to what the original song was. I found this assignment easy, only requiring me to apply a reversal effect on a converted song MP3 in Audacity.

My first hint is actually the title of my blog post, and the second hint is the background image of the Soundcloud audio track! My third hint is that it’s a song from an Oscar-winning film.

Still not sure what it is?

FTFTIF

“For the First Time in Forever” from the film “Frozen” is the original song!

Reverse audio

This audio assignment is called reverse audio and is where you take a song from your iTunes account and reverse it in Audacity. It is worth 3.5 stars and brings me over the 12 star minimum. You then create three hints about the song. The first hint is it is from a musical about a sharp shooting cow girl. The second hint is that the musical stars my favorite Broadway actress Bernadette Peters. The last hint is that Irving Berlin wrote this musical.

If you couldn’t guess the song is Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better from the musical Annie Get Your Gun.
