Political commercial

Made a satirical political commercial with Audacity for the radio show.

A Bagman We Can Put Stuff In

Audio Assignment Count: 2

This assignment looked pretty damn cool. Also the other examples were pretty awesome so I thought I’d throw my hat in the ring. I decided not to use any fancy-dancy effects, because I was confident I could morph my voice enough. As a result it sounds like Batman is voicing the first half, but I think that works. For the music I just used whatever I could find on freesound.org.

As for the content, well this is how I wish all politics ran. Also the “stuff you love” is simply Bagman assuming everyone likes the same things he does.

vote against bagman assignment

this is my campaign message against bagman for ds106 assignment i decided to go against bagman because who is bagman and its always fun to be on the opposing side.

Radio Ad: “Making the Sausage”

This one was pretty fun. I just used Audition to record clips from the recent GOP primary debate and an old clip of President Obama attacking Senator John McCain four years ago, then mixed it up with my voice (still playing with pitch and speed).

The music I ripped from a YouTube video claiming it was Metallica, which seems unlikely. But here’s the video so you can listen for yourself–

Bagman4Prez Radio Ad: “Spangled”

I really like how this came out. I did all the parts (except the star spangled banner, that’s Jimi).

For the “In a world” stuff, I went to Effects>Time and Pitch>Stretch and Pitch, and used that to shift the tone down and slow it down (some of it was too slow, and I had to speed it back up).

For the first two times Bagman is talking, I used an echo effect, from Effects>Delay and Echo>Echo.

It took awhile to get the volumes right on all the tracks, but, in the process, I taught myself how to do all that volume adjustment stuff that I already had figured out how to do with Audacity. I have to say it’s a LOT easier on Audition. There’s a ton I don’t know yet, in terms of what Audition can do, but I’m pumped to find out. Doing audio assignments should keep me learning for awhile.
