Your Favorite Teams Mashup

I have merged, or mashup’d logos from two of my favorite sports team. The red and yellow outer ring of the logo is Manchester United, an English soccer team, and in the middle is the logo of the Eagles, an NFL football team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Washington Teams!

I decided to do this assignment because I’m a huge washington fan, I really enjoyed putting this together and loved the way it turned out!

My Favorite Sports Teams

For this assignment I got to further indulge in my passion for sports related content. For this task I was instructed to combine the logos/mascots of my favorite sports teams in one unified image. The image is suppose to look natural and cohesive, meaning it shouldn’t look like I just threw a bunch of logos together. I used adobe Photoshop for this assignment and incorporated as many of my favorite sports teams as possible.  I ended up incorporating four of my favorite sports teams; the Washington Capitals, DC United, the Oakland Athletics and the Miami Dolphins. I really enjoyed this assignment and I had a blast creating it. It was my first time really playing with adobe Photoshop and it was a little challenging at first. Its a software that I think I need more time experimenting with before I can become great at Photoshop. Anyways I hope you enjoy this mix mashup of my favorite sports teams.

Mashup 2

For my 2nd mashup, I did the Your Favorite Teams Mashup and used the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens because they’re my 2 favorite teams. I used the Ravens’ mascot, Poe, and decided to put the Oriole Bird on the front of his jersey so I could incorporate the mascot more easily.

Viking from Iowa

For my final assignment this week I decided to combine the logos from my two favorite sports teams (4 stars).

To be completely honest, I do not keep up with sports at all. I have never sat through a game that was not a high school homecoming game. However, out of family obligation, I do have two favorite football teams, one professional and one college. I took the Iowa Hawkeyes logo and added it to the front of the Minnesota Vikings helmet like a cute little sticker. I picture a big brother Viking who just wants to support the college team of their southern neighbors in a nice subtle way. I have bought many a Hawkeyes bumper sticker in y life so it is bringing something I see in my everyday life and altering it slightly to make it fit within the limits of the assignment.

Boston Mashup

For my last mashup assignment of Week 12, I decided to complete the Favorite Sports Team Mashup. It was easy for me to come up with an idea for this assignment as Morph Shadow follows the Boston/New England Sports team as she is from Winthrop, Massachusettes, right outside of Boston, so naturally, they are her favorite teams. To complete this assignment, I compiled the logos for the Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics and the Bruins. Once I had the logos, I just had to figure out how I wanted to arrange them all together. The hardest one for me was the clover for the Celtics. I had no idea where I was going to put it on the Patriot, but I like it’s location as it is very subtle. To put the logos together, I used Pixel Editor PhotoStyle, an application on my Mac. Once completed, I downloaded it to my computer and embedded it below.

Favorite Sports Teams MashUp

For my last mashup assignment this week, I took a couple of my boyfriend’s favorite teams and put them together. I used the L.A. Rams, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Boston Red Sox. I was trying to also incorporate the San Antonio Spurs, but they weren’t fitting in a way that made sense. I used Canva to put them all together, and cropped them a bit as well. Then, I tweeted the final product.

Logo Mashup

Originally, my family and I are from Cleveland and we’re all into sports. So naturally, I knew which couple of teams I could pick from for this assignment.

This logo is the Cleveland Cavaliers sword logo, mashed up with the Cleveland Browns name and colors. Turned out really cool actually! I was surprised.

I would love to see some creativity like this in actual leagues, however it would definitely cause some controversy to die hard fans. They identify with one team and ONE TEAM only. However, if there were to be a farm system created for the NFL or NBA, like the MLB currently has, the leagues could definitely look to the fans for inspiration. Many of the current Minor League baseball teams have fan picked logos and mascots, which is an awesome point of pride for a city.

Mascot Mash-Up

Ever since I moved to Virginia, I fell in love with the hockey team, Washington Capitals, and the baseball team, Washington Nationals. I also kept some love for NY when I stick by the Buffalo Bills side. I still have to rep NY in VA. I used the Bills logo, and the two mascots for this mashup. The most fun part of this was to have the mascots ride the bull. I think it was a lot of fun.

Stars: 4

Favorite teams machup

The last mashup assignment I did is called your favorite team mashup and is worth 4 stars which brings me over the 12 star minimum. For this I had to make a collage of the logos for my favorite sports teams. It was hard to pick which ones made the cut because I like so many different teams but I made it work. I started with the Pittsburgh Penguins logo as the base layer because it had a cool black, yellow, and white background. Then I found a Pittsburgh Steelers logo from the 60’s I really liked as well as an older Green Bay Packers logo I like. Then I added the National’s and Pittsburgh Pirates logos as well. If you can’t tell I’m a huge Pittsburgh anything fan because my family is from there. Then I added a logo of the University of Virginia because they have always been my favorite university team no matter what the sport, but they are my top favorite college lacrosse team. I used http://pixlr.com/editor/ to layer all of the logos together to make one big collage. I think if I had more skill in pixlr I would have been able to make a better collage of these team logos but I still really liked how it turned out, especially because I got to use vintage logos for the Packers and Steelers. Overall I really liked this assignment and it was my favorite one of the week to do.
