I’ve been searching for opportunities to share a bit more about myself without stretching any assignments too far, so this assignment was the perfect opportunity to just sit back and have a casual chat with my camera. I reached out to some friends to provide some appropriate questions for this and was able to chat quite a bit about myself and my interests. I find it pretty fun to tell people about myself, knowing that there’s a chance that whoever watches the video may also enjoy the same or similar things. Even when someone seems to be a complete stranger, finding out that you have the same favorite band or both are passionate about things in the same area can provide a sense of belonging and makes you feel a bit more connected. Hopefully anybody who stumbles across this video can relate somehow and feels that sense of connection.

Hello folks! For my first video assignment, I had decided to complete the “Get to Know Me” Assignment. For this assignment, I had recorded myself on my computer and uploaded it to iMovie where I would then add in background music and finally upload to Youtube. I had my close friends send me questions for this assignment. I have posted the video below, so let me know what you think!

For this assignment, I chose to do the Get to Know You video, but for my character James. I feel like I had a good vision for her, but it would have come across more in writing than the digital part, so I’m trying to work on that! So, I did a get to know you video as if people were asking her questions after her appearance on DS106 radio!

I filmed with my my computer, and then edited it in Imovie. I used a song from Imovie called ‘Yearbook’ because it felt like the appropriate vibe for this video! I had recorded it kind of quietly without realizing, so I had to play around with the sound levels of the videos. I ended up having my audio on 400% and the song on 9%. I decided to put the questions up on the screen as I read them because I felt that it made the video feel more like something a Youtuber would produce! I’m pretty happy with the end result of my video!

This assignment was the Get to Know Me video worth 5 stars.

My last assignment for the week I did the assignment, “Get to know me” #2230. This assignment asked for me to answer some questions asked by the class. Unfortunately I literally only had questions asked by the wonderful ladies from our radio show group. Such a great group.

Anyway so I only had 3 questions asked by my group members, so I decided to use my wife to fill in the rest of the questions. As with all things that we do together I ended up being goofy and not really answering the question, but it was fun and still showed you something more about who I am!

If I had to do this activity again I wouldn’t do this activity again. I don’t think that I would change anything about how I did it this time. Check it out, I hope you enjoy!

Just Zaying…

For this assignment, I selected a ton of pics that best depict my life. Most of the pics are of me, my family and places that I’ve recently traveled – this pretty much sums up my life right now.   I uploaded them to Movavi and then added music that was available for download within the app, as well as a voiceover for narration.  I actually am beginning to really like Movavi – I’m still in the trial period right now and so I will see how I feel at the end of the 7 days.  This process wasn’t as difficult for me since I had some practice with using this app from last week.  Photo cred all belongs to me or someone from the Wilson clan lol.

I decided to put all of my stars into one post because they’re all hyperlinked to other videos/uploads! This week was INCREDIBLY hard. I spent about 12 hours on assignments this week and thought about withdrawing about 4 times. It sucked. But I prevailed and am now terrified of the rest of the semester. All videos are created with iMovie (except for the boomerang obviously.)

I did the Of Most Importance assignment for 3 stars first. I tweaked it a bit since most of my important people are not with me right now & I wanted to keep it consent. I went with pictures of my most important people & then said a bit about them after. See it here:

Then I did the Get to Know Me assignment for 5 stars. I pretty much just got questions from my own Facebook and my DS106 twitter (thanks Zae) and responded to them. I didn’t want to complicate it with music/effects so I left it as it was. It was SO HARD to upload. My iMovie wouldn’t save it. Then youtube said I couldn’t upload mp4 files (which is wrong.) Then youtube wouldn’t let me sign in. It was a completely unnecessary pain in the butt.

Then I did a click boomerang of my room even though it is a DISASTER. Click below to view my hot mess. This was 1 star.

Lastly, I put together my A Day in the Life assignment. Since I took videos throughout the day I had to wait until bed to do it. This was worth 3 stars (but should’ve been more in my opinion- it was a lot of work.) The only music I had in my iTunes was Ed Sheeran from like 7th grade so I went with it. Enjoy:

My day started off with my son yelling “MAMA” as usual. Work at 7, get the kids ready for school, walk them to school, and today I had a preschool tour for my son. Videos were frowned upon so I just stuck a picture of him waiting in there. Then we came home, I put him down for a nap, and laid down for 10 min while I waited for my caffeine to kick in. I worked on DS106 assignments for this week an then my son pooped everywhere. Like on the carpet and everything. So I just stuck him in the tub and sterilized everything after he was clean (hence the lysol.) Ian and I spent a few hours outside & at the park. Once he was in bed my mom stayed with him & my best friend and I went to see “A Star is Born” (10/10 recommend but wear waterproof mascara.) And now I am putting this together & will be going to bed!

For this assignment, we had to record ourselves saying interesting facts about ourselves and our lives.

To do this, I gathered different images I liked– ones of me, ones of my boyfriend, and ones of our dog and cat. I then compiled them together in iMovie and added a voice over.

I introduced myself, my dog, my cat, and my boyfriend. I then exported the video and uploaded it to YouTube.

Overall, I really enjoyed this assignment and sharing a little bit about myself.

In this assignment for 5 stars, I texted my friends and told them to send me random questions for me to answer for this class, and below is the video of every single question they texted me back with. Some are very weird, while most are pretty normal.
