ds 106: Common everyday objects (2 stars)

My old laptop

Found my old laptop and I thought it’d make for some interesting color shifts, and sure enough it really did! The image got pixelated thanks to Grafx2 for some reason I’ve yet to figure out, but besides my annoyances with it I like how it turned out! I’m a sucker for warm color schemes, and I couldn’t resist having a purple to orange gradient on something so special to me as my old laptop. Very sentimental and a rather sweet assignment.

Assignment Bank 7 #DS106 (2 Star)

I did “Common Everyday Object” Visual assignment and came up with this result.

In this assignment you are supposed to take a picture of an everyday object and adjust its Hue/Saturation.

I chose a powerful tool for everyday life…the pencil. Not only do we take advantage for such a tool, but we also use it poorly. The pencil is suppose to be used to take down what you need to, or take down what is fun/creative, and/or on your mind. But what’s it used for now? Still a lot, love letters, poster boards, Art, notes, homework, to calm down, to chew on, to let your mind go on paper with, for tricks, for fun, and for memories. We not only use the pencil for tons of things, but we use it for our lifestyle, and without it we wouldn’t be who we are now!

If you want to try it yourself and do way better than I did, you can find it here, http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/common-everyday-object-2/

Are You Drinking Enough Water?

Everyone knows the importance of drinking water each day, but are you drinking enough? Chances are the answer to that is no. You can visit sites such as http://www.slenderkitchen.com/article/how-to-calculate-how-much-water-you-should-drink-a-day to see where you fall on the chart. I used to be terrible about drinking the recommended amount of water each day, but in the past few months, I’ve gotten a lot better. It’s amazing how much better you can feel with just a few cups of some H2O. You can make that cup of water an everyday object for yourself!

This is for the Common Everyday Object assignment that can be found in the ds106 assignment bank

Common Everyday Object

The purpose of this assignment was to take a picture of an everyday item and change the colors.

I chose my keys, wallet, and sunglasses as the objects of the photo because these are items that I take with me everyday.

I used a photo editing app called Fotor to change the RGB color, as well as the temperature and tint of the picture to get the desired effects.

For the RGB, I changed the saturation and color for the highlights, shadows, and midtones in the picture.

For the temperature and tint I just adjusted each respective bar until I liked how my picture looked.

After playing with the different bars for each of the previously mentioned aspects of the photo, I came to my final product.

This assignment was titled “Common Everyday Object” and is worth 2 stars. The link to the assignment can be found below:

Common Everyday Cafetiere

A cafetiere is an everyday object, right?

This assignment asks you to take a photograph of an everyday object and change or manipulate the colours. So I chose my flatmate’s and I’s prize possession a rose gold cafetiere.

So this was the original photo that I took.

In photoshop I used the Hue/ Saturation option in the Adjustments drop-down menu.

Filter the Rainbow~`*

For my 2nd visual Assignment Bank project I did the “Common Everyday Object” assignment. (worth 2 stars)

I took a picture of a few generic eco-friendly coffee filters because caffeine is my drug of choice.

I then used a filter on Pixlr to make them multi-color!

Common Everyday Object – Visual Assignment

Common Everyday Object

IMG_9451

My common everyday object was a purple stapler.  I chose this because it was the first thing I saw on my desk that made me think, “hmm I use that almost everyday.”  So I took a picture of it!  I used my iPhone to edit it.  I have a couple of picture editing apps so that is how I did it.  This is the original photo:
