Bears, Beets, Battle Star Galactica

Take an exisiting movie poster and make it look silly. My final project involved an Ewok who wanted to be in a movie with Arnold Schwarzengger. This is his idea of a poster. http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/create-a-silly-movie-poster/ The Work Itself: 4 stars The Office is hands down my favorite show. So far, no matter how many times I…

Picture in Myth Visual Assignment

You in Collage Form. Make it about the character that was created last week.

This is a preview of my character that I created in last weeks assignments.

Week 4 Visual Assignment

2 Stars Places of Piece

Create a collage of photos with all of your favorite spots where you feel relaxed or at peace. This should include at least four photos and can be places on-campus, at home, or maybe a spot you found while traveling. Then post the college to twitter.

The beach and the mountains are my favorite places to go and unwind and recharge. Unfortunately I did not make it to the beach this summer. The mountains are peaceful and relaxing. It is usually cooler in the mountains than it is at my home.

2 Stars Your Favorite Photo

It’s simple. Choose your favorite photo you’ve taken and tell everyone why you love it so much.

This is my cat, Smokey. I got him when he was about 3 days old. He had to be bottle fed every 2-3 hours, just like a newborn baby. In this picture he is a couple of month old. Every time I would get out of this chair, he would jump in the chair and go to sleep.

4 Stars   Create a silly Movie Poster

Take an existing movie poster and make it look silly.

I used the Grinch Movie poster and added a hanging bat, hanging spider, an oragne balloon and soem silly squggles.

2 Stars   You in Collage Form

This comes with simple instructions. Make a collage with images and words that describe you or mean something to you. This can either be done with actual materials like paper and magazine clips or by taking images, memes, and fonts from the Internet. Be careful to focus on the design of the collage, not just putting things together in a big glob. Have fun and be creative!

I love my family! They are my biggest supporters and they give my strength when I need it and encourage me to be the best that I can be. Snowman in the Christmas scene describes me very well. I can watch Christmas movies year around and I love snowmen. Christmas is my favorite season, its magical. Snowflakes, I am like a child when the first snowflakes fall every year. I love snow!! Can Am Motorcycle- this is a hobby that my husband and I share. I have been all over the state of Virginia and West Virginia. Quilt picture- I love to quilt, unfortunately I do not have the time to quilt with my college schedule. I do quilt and sew during holiday breaks and between semesters. This is me.

Create A Silly Movie Poster

Harry Potter never actually met Dobby. He only met Irri. Irri is a free gnome!

Silly Movie Poster

For this assignment, I used Photoshop’s selection tool to highlight the parts I want from the picture as shown below.

Then made copies of it on the Iron Man movie poster

Movie Posters IRL

This was an extremely time consuming process but I loved it so much I just had to make my life more difficult and make several! First of all, having to coordinate a time to meet up with my movie poster “models” was quite possibly the most difficult part of the who thing. Then I decided that I would hand write all of the titles for the movie posters. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my handwriting so each took at least a couple of tries. Next I made a background in photoshop and compiled the images together to make it into a gif. In hindsight I wish I had added more frames so it looked less choppy, although it already took me plenty of time to create the ones I had. I think the my favorite of the three is the 40-Year-Old Virgin movie poster. It’s simplicity is reminiscent of the original poster, and I think I liked my handwriting best for this one.

Soylent Irony

Original poster can be found here. I’ve chosen a foreign version of the poster, as it was much higher quality than any in English. I’ve only added a small detail, but it adds quite a bit of dark humour to the whole thing, in my opinion. For those unfamiliar with the film, Soylent Green is essentially a movie about how overpopulation is solved by making food out of human bodies. If you can’t see it, the man in the lower right corner is (now) wearing a “PETA: People for the Eating of Tasty Animals” shirt, as he is chased by Riot Control attempting to collect more ingredients for Soylent Green. Irony indeed.

now kiss – visual assignment –

Ah, yes. My love for Gundam lately is unreal and the visual assignment I chose for today was essentially a movie poster parody. Let’s just say, my love for memes exceeds many things. Here’s what I ended up with after dwelling all day on what movie to parody…

endless waltz

I can’t say that I am particularly proud of this, but dang it, Gundam Wing did not fulfill the romance I had set in mind let alone in Endless Waltz. In terms of how I did this, I used the blank cover as the background, and found transparent files for the “now kiss” meme as well as Heero and Relena faces. I also found the English Gundam Wing logo and just placed everything where I felt appropriate. I used the “PicMonkey” website again for this edit.

I know it’s not the best edit, but I hope you guys liked it or it made you giggle. I would love to know if you had watched the movie and how it made you feel. However, if you didn’t watch it…criticism is also welcomed. Thanks ya’ll.

The horrors of Pillsbury

For this Visual Assignment I created a silly movie poster using my final project character, the Pillsbury Doughboy.  I had to create a movie poster that then was transformed to silly, and then incorporate the doughboy. This was for a total of 4 stars.

The horrors of Pillsbury is a horror film that is set in the town of Pillsbury.  The residents are all doughboys that are the nicest people in the world, and love having their bellies tickled.  One dark night there was a murder on the mayor of Pillsbury.  The town was tossed into chaos and no one could figure out who had done such a horrible thing.

Find out what happens in this horrifying film on July 8th!

  • The create this i used Paint 2 for MacOS.
  • I created a new project

  • I then found a picture of the doughboy online, saved it, and imported it onto the blank canvas.
  • I then used the text tool to write ontop of the picture.
