Assignment Idea

Create a house

For this assignment you need to use a CAD program and create a simple first floor of a house.  You don’t need to be fancy, but you should think of what each room would be used for.  Once you are done take a screenshot of your drawing showing all the rooms and then tell us what each room would be used for.

Create and print a 3D Vehicle

For this assignment you should pick a vehicle such as a car, boat, plane, ect and create it in a CAD program.  Then you should take your drawing and print it out using a 3D printer if possible.  You should post your drawing on thingiverse and a photo of your printed vehicle if you also printed it out.

FOr this assignment, you get to design your very own t-shirt! Find a blank t-shirt template, then add a picture or some text. It could be a joke, a pop culture reference, a movie quote, or anything else you want.

Sticky Note Animation

Lets go back in time and make an old school sticky note animation… Maybe it will make us appreciate our computer animation tools a little better. What’s nice about using sticky notes is that they are so thin you don’t even need a light table.

1. Get a pack of blank sticky notes.

2. Create an animation using each sticky note as a frame. Be creative here!

3. Take pictures of each frame and put them together to make an animation!

4. Upload to your blog!

Create an intro to a movie

Find a video, it can be anything you want, that would work well at the beginning of a movie. Narrate the beginning of a story you choose to the video you picked. Basically create our own movie intro, it can be any type of movie, try to keep it between 1 min and 1min 30 sec long

A Haiku Poem About A Haiku Poem

For this Writing Assignment, you’re asked to write a haiku poem about haiku poems. You can write about what people normally write in a haiku poem, how a haiku poem is formed, and/or how you feel about writing haiku poems. This assignment might sound tricky, but I know you can do it! Write at least 9 lines (3 sets) and have fun.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Quite often we see pictures on different social media outlets. They are funny, awkward, or beautifully portrayed moments but we don’t know what led up to that point in time. Your task for this assignment is to find a picture and write a background or short story for it. It can be a photo you took yourself or found on the internet. This story could be based on a true event if the picture is from your personal collection, or completely made up if you are using a funny picture you found online. Be sure to tag it properly!

Create Your Own Logo!

My assignment is to create your very own logo. You can make up your own unique item and make a logo for it or use an existing item and recreate the logo! Have fun with it, make it colorful if you want, and make sure it somehow represents the item/product you are doing the logo for. This assignment requires you to use your imagination and create your very own logo. For my example, I’m using Starbucks. I have invented a new logo for Starbucks; it’s simple but you’ll understand it when you see it.

When and Where would you live

Pick a time, place, and if you want a building from then (real or fake) that you would want to live. It can be from any time period or any place, be creative. You can create your own building or find one already made. Write a story about why you would live there and what you would do if you did.

Festival or Fundraiser?

Events, fundraisers, festivals, and other fun things to do happen around us all the time. Have you ever had two or even three events you wanted to participate in happen on the same day, but you could only choose one? For this design assignment you are tasked to create an attractive advertisement/flyer for some type of event. Be creative. Any event will do, but the point is to entice people to want to attend your event over any other. Your event could be a harvest festival with a petting zoo and pumpkin toss, or you could have bingo fundraiser to support the local SPCA, or even better yet something completely off the wall like a save the unicorns benefit. Be sure you also include a date, time, location and any other details specific to your event. Don’t forget to tag it.
