Show Me How!

Using a GoPro or a time lapse app; explain something to us. For instance, you could show us how you or your character cooks for their family, what they do at work, or even as zany as how they do their makeup! Make it funny, make it emotional–make it anything you want it to be! Have fun with it!

Sweet Message

Create a video for someone special in your life and add music to it. Use YouTube or any of the video sites to upload it. First, video tape yourself saying a message about the person your talking about. Let your feeling out, tell them how you feel about them or that your happy about being with them. Second, put music to it. This should be about 3 or so minutes long, nothing major. You combin video, writing and audio.

Classical-Modern Mashup

Ingredients:

1 piece of classical music

1 modern music video

How to make:

First, strip or mute the music out of the modern music video. Then layer the classic music on top.

Voila! Some hopefully hilarious, weirdly sexual classical-modern mashup.

Inspired by Beyonce Dances to Shostokovich.

Do a Talk Show Interview

Ever wanted to appear on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Conan, or some other talk show? Using iMovie, Movie Maker, or some other video editing software, record yourself being interviewed on your favorite talk show. Download a short (less than five minute) clip from the show, cut out the celebrity responses, and substitute in footage of yourself as the interviewee. Be creative. This is your shot at the big time!

Digital Diary

You’re going to build your own mystery to solve through a series of video jounal entries. It can be a completly ridiculous case, such as “Who stole the last piece of cake?”, or it can be a real mystery like “The murder of Lizzie Bordens family”. You need at least four journal entries, and through these videos you can gather “evidence”, narrate an “interview”, anything as long as it tells the story of your mystery  and the length of the video can vary as long as you clearly commnicate your case. Feel free to dress up, mess with lighting, add sound effects, etc. Have fun with it!

Time Lapse

Take multiple 1-2 second clips of a single location throughout the day (try and get as many as you can), combine the clips together so that you can see the difference in the location throughout the day.

Selfie Story

Narrate a story using selfies. It can be any story you’d like (crazy night out, movie night with friends, just the average day, etc). You can use a combination of selfie clips or pictures, it is all up to you. Create a 1-2 minute video montage of all the selfies to tell the story. Try adding music or effects to keep it interesting.

Sound to Visual

Using creations you have already completed in #ds106 – select an audio project you were happy with and build upon it to create a video. Do not change or add any audio. Challenge yourself to create the images your sound story conveys. Use the sound effects story assignment or an audio commercial from your radio work. Use found or created video and stills that tell your story. Push it a step further and show how sound may not always convey the images you think it represents (extra stars).

In your blog wrtie up include your original SoundCloud creation and ember your video(s).
