I chose to do this assignment because I read the description and thought it was funny. I looked through the other projects that people had done and I liked how it is a creative project, but it also it’s a joke or sarcastic remark about a movie. So there is an art element to it as well as a critique. As soon as I saw that I thought about all the movies that I have watched and made fun of because of cheesy plot lines or funny characters or just a movie that didn’t make sense at all, and I thought this project would be a fun opportunity to showcase my movie critique.
So the film I picked was The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Mostly because I like the Jurassic Park movies, but when you think about the logic, if people just stopped going to the island inhabited by man-eating creatures that shouldn’t even be alive anymore, then all 3 movies are just examples of what happens when you don’t use common sense. Okay, well you can’t really blame the characters in the first movie because they did know any better, but Jeff Goldblum’s character Dr. Ian Malcolm returns to Dino Island even after having nearly died on his previous trip. I took that plot line and used that as truthful movie poster’s slogan.
