This assignment was a little different for me because I have never tried to make a GIF before. The GIF assignment was to create a sports highlight reel, so obviously I had to choose my favorite football team. It is hard for me to think of important plays that happen because there are so many, and I honestly just don’t pay attention to all of them, but there was one play that I remembered immediately. The reason I remember it so well is because it was during Super Bowl XLIII, which I was watching with my whole street at my neighbors house. When we have Super Bowl parties, especially ones when the Steelers are in, they are crazy. I remember it being a nail biting moment to see if the Steelers or Cardinals were going to win. Then all of a sudden Ben Roethlisberger threw the ball to Santonio Holmes, which was an incredible catch, to make the last touchdown.I remember it so well because my neighbors and I all jumped up and started screaming and celebrated the entire rest of the night.
I believe this play was actually on the highlights because of how awesome of a catch it was. This play definitely deserved to be made into a highlight reel GIF. To make the GIF, I used makeagif.com. All I did was find the video that I wanted to use on Youtube and then paste the URL on to the GIF website. I then chose the specific time of the video I wanted the GIF to be and created it.

This is one of the five moments that the USA Woman’s Soccer team scored in the World Cup Final against Japan! It is definitely a BIG moment for not only America, but for the world! Go USA!!

Here, we were to create a sports GIF worthy of a highlight reel. I’m a pretty big Ravens fan, so I knew which moment to choose: the leg interception.

Here’s how it went: the Ravens are playing the Steelers in the playoffs. Roethlisberger’s pass is tipped, and looks like it will be incomplete. Then, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs intercepted the ball with his legs! I don’t care if you’ve never even seen a football game in your life, you have to admit that was awesome.

I created the GIF in more or less the same way as the Wayne’s World one. I used “pwnyoutube” to download the video, then I followed the instructions. Here’s the original video:

I created a GIF for this amazing soccer goal that i found a video of. The making of the GIF was fairly difficult, because it was my first time working with them as well as getting all the software to get the videos. After i figured it out though it went more smoothly until i realized i had to switch the order of all the files or else the GIF would play backwards, that was annoying. I think soccer has some of the coolest plays to watch and am glad to share this one with everyone.

It doesn’t matter what sport, but make sure its a cool moment in that sport, which would belong on a highlight reel.” I chose this clip to turn into a GIF because I am a huge Redskins fan and the late Sean Taylor was one of the greatest Redskins of all time. Taylor was known for his big hits and this is one of the most famous ones taken from an NFL Pro Bowl. I used Make a GIF to create this GIF. First time ever making a GIF…I think I did a pretty good job. I tried to download GIMP or Streamclip but neither liked the fact that I wanted to download it onto my mac so I went to plan B ( or C is you count the previous option as two options). I used imgflip.com which was a lot more user friendly. The only problem now is that I can’t figure out how to embed it into my post so sorry about that but if you click the link I can promise that it will work.
