We gotta focus on scenes like this or we’re gonna remember Heroin Bob. From the movie SLC Punk!, the original, not the new one. Ew.
Wayne’s World! Wayne’s World! Party Time! For this assignment, I had to create an animated GIF for my favorite movie scene. I’m not sure if it’s my favorite (I always have trouble choosing favorites), but I lawys enjoyed this scene from the hit Saturday Night Live sketch turned movie Wayne’s World.
In this scene, Wayne and the gang are driving through town while listening to Bohemian Rhapsody. Naturally, they sing along to this classic hit. Once they reach the hard rock section, the gang starts banging their heads. And of course they do, anyone who doesn’t bang their head at this part of the song has no soul.
To create this GIF, I mostly followed the guide posted on the course website. Initially, I tried using MPEG to load the YouTube video directly. Unfortunately, this feature did not seem very cooperative, so I ended up downloading the video by typing “pwn” in front of its URL (a little trick Jim Groom taught me). After that, everything else worked just like in the instructions. Here’s the original video:
Pick your favorite movie scene, and trim a clip containg about 20-25 images out of it. Software such as MPEG StreamClip can help to trim a particular scene that you desire to cut out of the video. Next, use software such as gimp to turn the photos into GIF. Following link can help you to do the assignment: http://ds106.us/docs/Creating_Animated_GIFs_with_MPEG_Streamclip_and_GIMP
