I created a commercial for the LoDown. I wanted it to seem kind of epic so I decided to use the song Wake Up by Rage Against the Machine. I took audio from LoDown-18 of Groom asserting his need for dominance and a superior cyber-race of ds106er’s and added it over the song at the point right before the drop in the song. SoundCloud kept removing the audio because I obviously don’t own the rights to the song, so I have just uploaded the file to my blog.

So I decided to make up a new audio assignment. Create an advertisement for scottlo podcast! Click here to see what do for the assignment on its official page! Basically the gist of the assignment is to create a audio advertisement for the podcast that gives some basic information and where to find the podcast. You also need to add background music and sound effects. It is a audio assignment. I then uploaded the results to soundcloud. While there is already a scottlo podcast realted assignment, I feel that this one is different. The other assignement is about making content for the podcast itself, while this one is about making an advertisment. Maybe the ads could go on the ds106 radio (the one I made is going in the radio show assignement). Check out what I came up with

To make this sound file I used garage band (for mac) application. The male voice over is me, but I used sounds from multiple other sources. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE2g9fyT78M is the wow sound effect. All other sound effects came from the Iphone’s text tones sounds that are built into the phone.
I like garage band’s UI and I felt it was easy to adding multiple layers of sound effects. I would recommend using garage band for this assignment to anyone that wants to do it.
Everyone who has heard the scottlo podcast loves it, but not everyone has heard of it before. You need to fix that. Create a advertisement for the scottlo podcast. Make an audio advertisement (Or any media you want) that gives some basic information about the podcast. It needs to include where people can find the podcast also. If doing audio, add background music and sound effects. Upload to soundcloud and share it with everyone.
