For this assignment, I was tasked with creating a license plate. I chose to create a Maryland license plate the reads “BRDSNBR”, or “Birds and Beer”.

So, why did I choose Maryland? Beacause I like Maryland. Why do I like Maryland? Because of the birds and beer. The birds are the sports teams, the Orioles and Ravens. The beer refers to all of Maryland’s microbreweries.

This time, I can’t take any real credit for the creation. I used this website called Acme License Maker that did all the work for me. All I had to do was select the state an type my message.

The title of this design assignment is Design a License Plate and the description is to simply design and customize your own license plate using some sort of online software. For my license plate I used a website called Build a Sign. I designed my license plate like this because I love to fish, when I’m not in school or working you can probably find me somewhere fishing.

This assignment I think really tells a story about me because it describes a hobby that I absolutely love and has always been a big part of my life.

Design a License Plate

Description of Assignment: “Design your own license plate! You can use an online site, alter a preexisting photo, or make your own from scratch. Make the license plate describe either you or a character. Your license plate design should have two parts to it: design the background for the plate and designing the font. Be creative with it.”

I created this Design Assignment by searching on Google for a license plate designing website. I found one called Build a Sign and used it in order to create my own license plate. When creating my personal plate, I began by first choosing what I wanted my license plate to say. I chose to have my license plate say “LVNLIFE.” This particular saying can either mean “Loving Life” or “Living Life.” I like to look at it either way because to me, if I am living my life, I am loving my life. After picking my perfect saying, I began to fiddle with some of the great background designs they had until I found one I really liked. I chose flowers because I love flowers. The color of my plate and font is pink, as you can see. I chose to do the color pink because it is my favorite color. This has by far been my favorite assignment so far because it allowed me to get very creative and I love that.

This particular Design Assignment is related to the concept of digital storytelling. This is because it is a digital media plate I made and it is telling a story behind it by the personal saying I chose to go on my license plate.

For this Design Assignment, worth 2 stars, it asks us to build a license plate that describes you.  I also decided to put some meaning into it with the whole idea in general.  In Virginia, one of the motto’s we have is “Virginia is for Lovers” and so I took this and played off of it with nature, especially since where I am from , I am surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.  My love for the mountains grows every single time I return home and back to areas with these mountains, and in general any mountainous area.  Nature has also had a huge role in my relationships with my friends and family.  They have gotten much stronger with the bond of nature.

For this Assignment, I went to the DMV website and played around with their templates to get to the one of the mountains, then thought about Nature.  With the play on the saying I decided to go for the idea of Nature is for Lovers, which obviously cannot fit on a simple 7 character license plate, so I shortened it to “NTR4LVR”.  Also, as kids, my sister and I used to try to figure license plates out, so I found this one fun.  I then screenshotted the plate screen so I could take it into paint to crop it, then upload it here!  So enjoy!

I heard though that her California ventures are not just all fun and games … She is currently entrenched in the ever-deepening case of Meowdred Pierce, not to mention wonderings of our small southern town over “whodunnit” and “who is she?!”.

Design A License Plate-2pts

Also for House of Noir; Getaways I created a license plate. I used the website buildasign.com to make my design. I still have to see what my co-workers think about getting all of our license’s plates customized but I had a lot of fun making it. I am not sure it exactly meets state requirements to be a legitimate license plate but maybe we can make it a decal to put on all of the House of Noir cars. In my opinion I think it is great marketing for our company.

In honor of our new agency I changed my plate license! I wanted  to be thankful for where I’m today and how this helped me become the new me! I was afraid that if I move back to New York that I would lose all my dreams and I will not be famous again. I was so close to be my own thing but now I’m even closer! Thanks to my busniess partner Rose King and thank for our agency Sparkling!

I did the assignment http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/design-a-license-plate/ which was to create a license plate that described a character or group. What better group to make a plate for than the Black Widow Agency. I made our plate say WIDOWS because we are the widows and it would look great on one of our cars;). I created this by using buildasign.com and then I added in the background, which I got off google by searching nightscapes. Once I got the photo and placed it onto the plate I choose the word “WIDOWS” and then placed that onto the plate. I picked the state Pennsylvania because that is where the agency is located and the maNOIRpulators like to spend our time! I choose blue for the state because it stood out against the background and then white for the word because it went perfect with the background.
