Cartoon The Head!

I chose this assignment because i thought it would be quick and fun, hence the 1.5 stars. I chose ben 10 to use as my cartoon since it was one of the first search results for cartoon, then i chose to edit his head on our one and only tpain.

Cartoon-ify!: 2 Stars

The link to the whole assignment can be found here. The goal of this assignment is to choose any subject you want and replace the head with a cartoon head.

For this assignment, I decided to replace the heads of my friend and I with animals. The original picture is

shown above and shows the normal heads of my friend and I. The final product created is

My friend and I may look happy in the original photo but we are actually not. We are fighting about the better animal, a cat or a dog. As a dog person, she loves the companionship that comes with owning a dog. She loves her dog jumping up on her and licking her face and the high maintenance beings that dogs are, especially when puppies. On the other hand, I like the laid back and lazy spirit of a cat. It doesn’t bother me much, I can leave its food out all day, and it will go in its liter box when needed. I barely have to pay any attention to the cat! Its the perfect pet. I see it about once a week and even then, it doesn’t want anything to do with me. This is the story behind the reasoning for the heads chosen.

So if you couldn’t tell, I actually don’t like cats too much it just made for a good story! Sorry to any cat people out there but I am a huge DOG person!!!

To make this image, I used Pixlr.com. After uploading the image into the website, I uploaded the dog and cat heads.

The next step is to outline each head using the Lasso tool. Copy the image selected and paste it into your background image.

Hey Camel!

One of my favorite shows when I was growing up was Hey Arnold! So, when I saw the Cartoon the Head assignment, I immediately chose to use Arnold as the cartoon head. But what should be the body that will support Arnold’s football head? I opted for a camel. I feel that the camel’s hump is a nice complement to the football head.

How it was made:

I began by copy and pasting a picture of a camel into PowerPoint.

Screen Shot 2016-05-29 at 3.18.21 PM

Then, I copied a photo of Arnold on top.

Screen Shot 2016-05-29 at 3.19.02 PM

Then, I used the Remove Background tool by going to Format Picture>Remove Background.

Screen Shot 2016-05-29 at 3.19.10 PM

In order to use this tool, simply click on the areas of the photo that you do not want to include. The tool will cast the unwanted areas in a shade of purple, leaving only the desired areas in their original color. Simply continue to click around the image until you have removed all of the background that you want to get rid of.

I removed the background, Arnold’s clothes, and his neck. To see the final image, simply click outside of the image boundaries.

Finally, click and drag the head to place it on the camel’s body.

Bravo Deer

Here’s the original assignment: Cartoon The Head Assignment

When I think of beautiful scenery and animals I of course think of Johnny Bravo. It’s a shame that the Johnny Bravo TV series didn’t incorporate nature into their show more so I took the liberty of doing that myself. Behold.

Robin The Bird Wonder and The Majestic Raven

robin and raven

It was just a normal morning for the Teen Titans before they realized something strange was going on in their base. The other members kept hearing  intense flapping and screeching all around. They look and looked until they found an astounding image. It was their leader Robin and the introverted Raven who seemed to have been transformed into the birds that represent their hero names. How did this happen? Will they be able to change back? Tune in to the newest episode of Teen Titans to find out!

This one and a half star assignment required me to take real people, animals, or objects and add a cartoon character’s head to them. I immediately decided to edit images of the birds, a robin and a raven, and add the DC Universe characters that have the same name to their heads to create a somewhat humorous story out of the image. As you can see, the final image came out pretty well and it even made me chuckle a bit.  Now, I wonder who is the bad guy that transformed these characters into birds?

Oh well, to create this three and half star assignment I used the image editig software called GIMP. I first downloaded an image of a robin from Google and then PNGs of a raven and the heroes Robin and Raven from the Teen Titans. I then opened the images as layers and used Add Alpha Channel under Layer and Transparency. I then selected the eraser tool and used the right bracket key to make the it larger in order to erase the characters bodies.

The final bit of editing was using the Transform Tools under Tools to move and scale the heads of Robin and Raven to make them fit on the heads of their respected birds, shown below.

I hope you enjoyed this image as much as I did!

If Corner Pocket was a Minion

herecomesjohnny

For this assignment I had to any person or thing and put a cartoon head over it. Of course I’m going to choose a picture of myself because who else would I choose?? I mean I’m Johnny Corner Pocket McCormick of course I’m going to choose me!  But I must say, Despicable Me is a great movie. One of the best in my opinion. So it was a no brainer that I was going to put a minion over my face. I look pretty good if I do say so myself.

I edited this in photoshop (masking tool with black and white filter)

Cartoon-ize a face!

So, since Titanic is my favorite movie, one of my oldest family friend’s fathers loves to watch the film with me, and here’s the kicker: he openly admits he loves it because his man crush is Leonardo DiCaprio. Now, I wish my own dad could be as open about his man crush, but it took much coaxing for him to finally admit that it is George Clooney. I don’t blame him; Clooney is a handsome guy, and all the best to him and his new bride.

Anyway, since my family loves Clooney, I figure that gives me permission to totally cartoonize his face by adding handsome Squidward. Yeah, I love SpongeBob, too, even though I’m a grown woman. No shame. That show brings me such joy and has for a decade.

So, fellow Clooney and/or SpongeBob fans…rejoice, for the two have been joined for all of digital storytelling history.

Handsome Clooney? PSH--more like handsome Squidward.

Cartoon The Head! – Design Assignment #4

Cartoon The Head

I am going to take you through my journey for this design assignment, I started by looking for pictures of cartoons. I didn’t know what I was looking for exactly, naturally I began to procrastinate and look at pictures of cars. It is amazing how the human brain works. I was in my room upstairs, I could hear a faint noise coming from the basement, upon further investigation, I found out my siblings were watching Madagascar! Bam, I got my idea for the assignment. I wanted to use the giraffe from Madagascar. Screen Shot 2014-07-04 at 4.58.22 PM

So I went to google and typed in Madagascar giraffe. I downloaded the first image that I could find.

Melman

This image can be found on the following link: http://madagascar.tribute.ca/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Melman.jpg. Anyways, the next part of the assignment is to find a celebrity. Once again, I began my search on Google, and I typed in:

I clicked on the Forbes link and found out for the year 2014, Beyoncé was ranked the World’s Most Powerful Celebrity. I used the picture that Forbes used:

This image can be found on http://www.forbes.com/sites/dorothypomerantz/2014/06/30/beyonce-knowles-tops-the-forbes-celebrity-100-list/. Then, I took the giraffes picture and pasted it on Beyoncé’s face and came up with this! Please enjoy!!
