name that tune

The third image is a representation of images that go with popular songs. The background image is one of my all time favorite songs, Firework by the beautiful Katy Perry. The domino represents, top charts hit, Domino by Jessie J, and the flower is an Iris, by the goo goo dolls. I actually used photoshop for this process so I could cut, lasso, edit and color the images in order for them to look real!

I don’t know where he’s going, but I certainly don’t want to go with him. NAME THAT SONG!

It's Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash, in case you are a moron or unfortunately sheltered.

I created the image with just two layers and some opacity fiddling. One image is of the Pacific rim, and the other was made by this gentleman (http://www.pxleyes.com/profile/lchappell/)

I swear I will stab anyone who leaves a comment that says “OMG, I JUST DON’T KNOW.”
And yes, I do realize that this threat will likely prevent such comments from being posted, that is why I issued the threat. But seriously…

Can you guess the song?

If you can’t, you obviously don’t hear mainstream music… Just kidding, but not really. It’s a popular song from a group that I love haha. I decided to do this song and the image in the way that I did for everything to be taken literally, except the robot. The robot’s not in the song [...]

Can You Guess It?

Little Secrets

Design Assignment: Name That Single!

I used Photoshop to create the design and the main thing I just did was create a lot of layers. I first got the base of my photo from a clip art website and then I picked a few photos to overlay them to give it some pattern.

I pasted the patterns into a new layer and with the ‘fx’ button I increased the opacity of the photo just a bit. With this, I was able to see the lips from underneath and I was able to use the eraser tool to erase the parts that weren’t part of the lips. I did the same thing for the teeth. And for the words, I experimented with the warp tool and used the flag style to give it the wavy look. I wish I was able to give the text more volume at some areas but I wasn’t able to figure it out.

Try and guess the song!

Name That Single!

I created the image above for the Name That Single design assignment above using an icon from The Noun Project.  It was frustrating at first because I do not have software that allowed me to download the image – it’s something called a vector image.  Not knowing what to do I of course turned to my fellow ds106-ers and tweeted for help.  Alan had the brilliant and simple (I always love simple) suggestion of taking a screenshot of the image.  Perfect!  I then used Gimp to invert the black and white color scheme as well as add two additional, identical icons.

The song the image represents became popular my freshman year of high school and my field hockey coach made our team mix CDs with this and a couple other classics (My Goodies by Ciara – legendary!)…

So come on, take a guess at what the song title is!

Assignment Details

Name that tune

This is an old song all the people were singing in the seventies. Probably no one knows it, or the name of the band (no matter how many hints I drop). Can you guess?

Two of the symbols came from Wingdings, one from the NounProject and the other I had to make myself.

Everybody Had Matching Towels!

This is one of my favorite crazy songs from the 80s.  This DS106 assignment called for the creation of a simple image for a song title. This one is fairly obvious, but still a little fun.

I imported the lobster and guitar to fireworks.  I used the magic tool to select the guitar and inserted it to the lobster image.  I then selected small portions of the guitar and cut them out to make it appear to be held by the lobster. TA DA! simple.

Spotlight on: another brick in the wall

This is my second ds 106 assignment! Name that single!
It’s really simple one. You just need to guess a song from this picture! I think I chose really easy and simple picture.

This song reminds me of the winter 3 years ago. I visited Italy as school exchange program for 2 weeks and went out every night during that moment. My host sister took me many places by driving and this song was always on the radio!

It’s getting cold these days here in Tokyo and I sometimes miss the days in Italy so I listen to this song :p

In case you couldn’t find the answer, check this.

Name That Single: DesignAssignment

Is it too easy?? :P

This assignment is called “Name that Single”.
The task is to:

Create a design for a favorite song by using just simple designs and NO WORDS…Basically a design assignment with the rules in charades. IE: for No Doubt’s “I’m Just a Girl” I would just have a symbol of a girl.

So for this assignment, what I had to do is to create a design for my favorite song by using simple image. No words are allowed, so I designed the image as simple as possible to make it easy to guess! :)

Hints:
This song is my favorite since I visited Liverpool a few years ago.
I was not a particulary big fan of them before visiting Liverpool. But I really had a good time there and learned about their history.

The process I took for this assignment:
I searched the image using GoogleImage search engine and then decorated with Aviary. I looked up stamp tool but it didn’t have stampe that I wanted so I used text tool instead. Using text tool, I typed ? and changed colors. And here’s what I got!
Aviary is such a simple and easy to use, still does great work. I really enjoyed using it :)
