For this assignment, I chose to turn Jacob’s Ladder (1990) into a book cover. It’s one of my favorite movies, and I would have been interested to see a book version of it. Well, there is technically a book version but its more of a script than anything….
I took an existing poster, and replaced the center of the poster with a slightly ripped depiction of Jacob’s Ladder, as referenced in the Bible.
I have chosen this image (I have merged a sad winter landscape with René Magritte’s Lovers) because I think that it best expresses the story of one of my favourite movies.
This is a design assignment worth 3 stars. For this assignment the task was to make a book cover of a movie without using a photo of the actor or in my case it would be a character since it is animated. I chose one of my favorite childhood movies because I thought why not. I have always loved the movie Mulan and I think that it would actually be a great novel and would give young teen girls the inspiration to not fit the status quo and become something great. I started out by looking up a samurai sword since that was a key aspect of the movie. I then searched through the photos and found one with the pink jasmine flowers that added to a femininity and grace to having a female main character. The last thing on the book cover is the title itself that had the dragon under it. I used lunapic to merge the photos together by having the title faded and the edges faded out to leave it more mysterious.

Hackers seems to be a good movie for our agency. We help get the evils on the internet and this is a group of people that end up getting an evil who was using computers to do evil.
I used Photoshop to create this little book cover. I had found the movie funny, so made the cover somewhat funny.
This is star wars meets really cool light saber. I think the light saber is the best thing that represents the series.
This assignment was to create a creative movie book cover. I decided to make one for The Wire. Although it is not a movie or a book, I think it could still fit the qualifications! I ended up making two because I couldn’t decide which one I liked better. The first one shows a pager and the second shows a computer. I used Google to find the photos and then typed “The Wire” into my calculator and took a picture. It was so difficult to try to find a creative way to incorporate the two. I do not have Photoshop so I had to use Paint again. I think if I had access to Photoshop, they would have come out better.
