King’s Sky mashup

Hey there everyone, today I’m tacking a few more stars, 4.5 more- to be exact. I took on the movie trailer mashup assignment with some ideas already in my head. I initially wanted to mix Skyfall with a Mr. Bean type of character to cut the serious spyishness with a buffoon, but the difference in the clips that I sourced was just too extreme. Instead, I used another silly villain. I remembered that one of my favorite parts of the Kingsman movie was that the villain was kind of the comic relief of the film, which was something that I had never seen before in the spy theme.

That being said, I mixed the two movies by making the typical badass Bond montage, but also mixed in the funny bits of Richmond Valentine- the villain from Kingsman. To make the movie, I simply screen recorded both trailers on my phone, and then clipped out the parts that I want/ didn’t want to use. After I had a good chunk of clips, I threw them all into iMovie on my cell phone and blended them together. I carefully selected transitions that best fit the scene/dialogue- so if you pay close attention you’ll be able to see the differences in some of my scene transitions.

Let me know down below what you think! Did the villain make you laugh at all? If you hated it, be sure to let me know that too!

Run! Trailer Mashup

This trailer contains clips that some people may consider violent. Do not watch if this will upset you.

The Story

For this week’s DS106 assignment I was required to create a mashup which I have not done before. After browsing Read more…

In the Not Too Distant Future, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

Alternatively, a long time ago, somewhere in time and space.

For this mashup assignment, I decided to mix the theme song of one of my favorite shows, Mystery Science Theatre 3000, with clips from Star Wars episode IV. Having had many problems with Windows Movie Maker, I decided to upgrade to Adobe Premiere.

Using VLC media player, I recorded several relevant scenes from the movie, and then used Adobe Premiere to organize them together. This program is so much nicer and simpler when it comes to trimming and arranging videos. I then muted the audio tracks and added an addition audio track of the theme song. Here’s the final result:

Olympus Down Mashup Trailer

In Olympus Has Fallen, Roma said, “Olympus has fallen, Olympus has fallen, Olympus has fallen!” It’s been a heck of a week but I’m glad to start posting my ds106 posts! So I created a remix assignment (4.5 stars/5 stars) and it was a fun one doing. So I created this assignment by getting two movies and putting it into one movie mashup trailer. Throughout the trailer, it has to show the theme of the story and it had to be creative a bit. I tried that. I used Wondershare Video Editor to do so. It was a lot of editing and cutting. I tried my best with the sound editing. I added some sound along throughout with the music as well. I never thought I would be able to do this but I remembered one scene from friends of what Joey said which made me laugh.

Here’s myself creating the assignment:

Without further ado, here’s my video that I did for this assignment. Hope you guys like it and I would really appreciate your thoughts about it! Enjoy!

Two Movies into One Mashup Trailer

Get two movies that have a similar theme and create a mashup movie trailer out of it. Throughout the trailer, it has to show the theme of the story and it’s got to be creative! Have fun as well!
