He lies motionless in his hospital bed, then *GASP!*
“Nurse! Nurse,” he whispers through coughs. There is no one there. He tries to use the call button on the bedside. No response. Nothing.
He rolls over and falls to the floor. Panicking, he gets to his feet and looks around the room. Interestingly, the bouquet of flowers on the table are all dried and dead. He staggers to the door and out into the deserted hallway.
“Hello? Hello! Anybody?! Where is everyone? Did they all go on break at the same time?”
He shuffles down the hall, still looking for someone, anyone. At the end of the hall, he sees something strange – a set of double doors are held shut with a wooden board.. Why would someone barricade the doors, and who would want to? His first instinct is to open it and see if anyone needs help. He is, after all, a police officer, and it is his sworn duty to serve and protect. He removes the board and pulls the door open.
What he finds inside is not normal! Everyone he sees is dead! Decayed! Rotting! He shrieks and one of the things lunges toward him. He struggles to get away from the thing. “What are you doing! Get off! Can’t you understand?!”
“Unngghhhh,” the walking corpse groans. It was almost as if it wanted to eat him! He was terrified. In what world had he awakened?! How much time had passed; Days Gone Bye?? He struggled to the stairwell, and finally rid himself of the dead, but walking creature.
He was alone, in this strange and twisted reality. What was he to do? Where was he to go? He had to get to the bottom of this. Surely Lori and Carl had to know. He hoped they were safe at home, just waiting for him. Rick had to find answers.
Weeks have passed. Who knows how long it’s been, months, years, it’s hard to say. All that Rick knows is that he is surviving. He has to.
He’s made it long enough to get out of Atlanta, and somehow make it to New Mexico. I guess there wasn’t much left of Alexandria, and maybe Nebraska wasn’t so nice either.
On this particular day, Rick is out on a run, searching for more supplies. A storm is brewing in the distance and he knows he needs to find shelter and quick. The following is what ensues when he finds an old warehouse-looking building with the sign only partially remaining above the door. From what he could tell, part of the sign read “Radio”…

This assignment was a mashup of three previous assignments and completes the Mash Thyself, Before Ye Trash Thyself assignment, worth 4 stars! For this assignment, we had to use existing content that we had previously created this semester.
This assignment in pretty simple, yet very powerful. Mash-up your own work! Take at least 3 things you’ve done this semester, and combine them together to make one cohesive thing.
I started by looking back over all that I had created, including works on my SoundCloud and Flickr accounts. On SoundCloud, I found two creations that fit together very nicely! And for the third piece, I had to go all the way back to week 1! These three works that I chose all had a theme that all dealt with Rick, from The Walking Dead. I started by copying the story that I had written from Week 1, and then expanded on it a little, giving for a nice lead in to my other two pieces for this assignment. The two audio clips were pretty easy to combine using Audacity, and I just uploaded it as a new track on SoundCloud. I really like the idea of this assignment, because it makes you reflect on what you have already created. It also lets you build on what you already have, so you don’t have to start from scratch for this assignment.
