I did “Photo Mash” Mashup Assignment.

Short story on how I took this picture, it’s pretty interesting, let me tell you.

I picked up Rambo who was hitchhiking and The Mad Hatter I saw skipping down the road. I told them I was fans and that it would be cool to get a nice photo for my blog, and they both agreed, luckily there was a forest nearby and Rambo got into his position with his M-60, (in which I didn’t even realize he had on him or I wouldn’t have remotely picked him up.) The Mad Hatter decided to just roam around and do nothing while we tried giving him orders.  Finally Rambo grew restless and said he had to be somewhere and started shooting at the Mad Hatter, I decided to get a picture, (because I’m dumb and didn’t think that Rambo killing Mad Hatter was important at the time, oops…)

Moving on…

I had to use Adobe Photoshop and mix 2 images together…again, but this time they had to be actors! They also had to match their environment, meaning the Easter Bunny can’t be on the moon. As you can see I grabbed Rambo and the Mad Hatter, in which they have both been in the jungle at one point, so I used the jungle as a location. I cut Rambo out of his picture and Mad Hatter out of his picture, put them in the jungle picture, resized, re-perspectived, and new lighting. Since it was in the jungle I din’t want to dim the lighting or make the camera bad to make my Photoshop look better, so it took some time to cut to make it look better.

A mash-up of WW2 and the Death Star. I’d improve upon it but PhotoScape’s UI is very un-user friendly.

For this assignment I used snap chat to create superman holding up the UC! It was a pretty quick one and I enjoyed making it! This was worth 3 stars.

For this assigment I also used snap chat! I had to create a mashup of two actors that looked like they should be together. I recently saw daddies home 2 and that is why I chose these two actors.  This was worth 3 and a half stars!

For this project I had to mash up two Disney songs. I used listentoYoutube.com to convert the music from Youtube. Then I layered it in audacity. This is worth 4 stars!

For this assignment I did the same as before. I used audacity and layered the song Sound of Silence by Disturbed and the Wiggles song Fruit salad. This was worth 3 and a half stars!

For this assignment I decided to put my two chillest inspirations in a crazy place.  I feel like they could make Mordor a pretty sweet spot.  Imagine a Mordor where they allow you to order pizza on YOUR time? How about a bowling alley and some White Russian beverages? Sounds pretty cool to me.

Photo Mash

For this assignment, I was instructed to take two actors and mash them together into one photo. Also, I had to make sure that they look like they belong in their setting and they look like they were actually together when the photo was taken. Below is my finished product and the steps I took to create it:

Alright so, by this point in the semester I’ve used Gimp so much that I’m now almost a pro. I remember when I first started using it, the application made me want to throw my computer at a wall. But anyways, I decided to go with Daryl from The Walking Dead and Tallahassee from Zombieland as my characters. I chose Daryl because The Walking Dead used to be one of my favorite TV shows and he was my favorite character. I chose Tallahassee because Zombieland is one of my favorite movies and I love Woody Harrelson. It was only logical that I put them in an apocalyptic setting! The step-by-step process for this creation is as follows:

1. I googled images of Daryl, Tallahassee, and a zombie background. I then downloaded them all to my computer.
2. I opened up the Daryl and Tallahassee files, separately, and used the lasso tool, added an alpha channel, and used the scissors tool to remove them from their backgrounds.
3. Next, I opened up the apocalyptic setting in a new window, imported both of the images I had just finished editing of Daryl and Tallahassee and viola!

In this assignment, we were required to incorporate two actors into an image. I chose to include several musicians as well. This picture features the two main characters from Back to the Future, Kanye West, Future the rapper, Phil of the Future and Tyler the Creator.

The last Mashup assignment I completed for this week was the Photo Mash assignment worth 3 1/2 stars! The idea of this assignment was to combine 2 different actors into one image that actually makes sense and looks normal! For this I chose to pick two classic “School Mean Girls” and have them competing for Queen of the high school halls.

To complete this assignment I googled image searched classic movie mean girls and came up with two of my personal favorites, Regina George from Mean Girls and Lana from Princess Diaries. Once I had my two mean girl pictures I used photo shop to add them both to a background image of school lockers. To make the photo look realistic as the assignment wants I carefully chose two images that look similar. By this I mean I picked images of the two girls posing similarly, looking in the same direction, and had similar coloring allowing for a much simpler edit. I also chose the background image as a background that they have in common, high school hallway lockers! Then I tweeted my final product!

Mashup Assignments: Photo Mash

This mashup assignment said to create an image of 2 actors from different movies and place them into the same scene together.

I decided to do Heath Ledger as the Joker in the Dark Knight and Jared Leto as the Joker in Suicide Squad. I image Ledger coming to visit Leto and giving him advice on how to be a better Joker while he is confined in the asylum. Or maybe the two are just catching up over a cup of coffee.

I found 2 images of each Joker in a similar setting, in my case, sitting across from someone at a table. I used Photoshop to crop Ledger out and paste him to the Suicide Squad scene. I manipulated the color of Ledger to match closer to the setting. I ended up changing the whole color of the setting to be darker so the (not so great) photoshop was less noticeable.

I really enjoyed this assignment because it gave me a chance to finally practice photoshop and to experiment with manipulating colors to make the image look better. I missed part of Ledger’s hand when cropping so I placed a Starbucks logo over the coffee cup to hide his hand. I had a lot of fun with this assignment and hope to do more like it soon!
