Lip-sync singing

This video assignment is worth 3.5 start and it only requires for you to lip sync singing your favorite song. I like Do I by Luke Bryan and I used it as a background, it was very funny to do this because I usually sing the song but I have never recorded my self. In the middle of the song/video I grab a color pen and used it as a microphone I was having fun. While I was trimming the video I saw that I can slow or speed the video, and because I think is even more funny I decided to speed the video so my voice (well Luke Bryan’s voice) sound weird. All this was done in YouTube creator studioĀ which is really easy to use.

Origami

This video assignment is worth 4 stars and it prompt me to create an origami for Halloween. I know it is a little late for a Halloween origami but it is never too late for one. I create this assignment for the assignment bank and it will prompt a student to create a video of them creating and explaining how to create an origami for Halloween. I decided to create ghost origami because I did it previously and I though it was cute. The video does not look good because I shoot it using my laptop camera which explain the weird angle but I do not have anything else to record and if I use my cell phone I will not be able to use my two hands to do the origami. Then I uploaded the video to my YouTube account and I choose a music from them called How it Began, and I also choose a filter for the video just to change out of the color.

Make a tutorial

This video assignment is worth 4.5 stars, and it asked you to create a tutorial for your mother. I choose to create a tutorial of how to share your screen to my friend REspag because sometimes I want her to teach me some math and she can not do it. So first I look it up how to do it online and download the program from Google, because I needed it for another assignment. It was pretty easy to use and this will also cover one of the requirement to create a tutorial for the class. Once I recorded the video I uploaded to YouTube, and I am no going to describe what I did because it is recorded in the video.

Ebert’s Analysis-The Pantry Scene of The Shinning

This video assignment is worth 3 1/2 stars and I choose the scene of the pantry of The Shining is the same I choose for last week assignment. I love this scene because I can sense the metal deterioration that the main characters is going through. I explain the shooting angle and how the camera does not skip the shelve but instead it shoot them as if the camera was a person who was passing while keeping an eye on the main character. It also shows how the camera starts to back off the main character at the beginning of the scene. I did not realize it at the beginning but now I understand why is camera backing up instead of closing on the main character, It is because the camera (if it was a person) was showing that it was not safe to be around that person and that explain why the whole time the camera was playing or recording keeping a distant from the main character.

Nail polish falls

This video assignment is worth Ā 4 stars and it prompt me to use Vine. It is the first time that I heard about Vine and I needed to download the app to my phone and it took me several attempt to figure it out how it works. I was doing my nail while I was looking through the assignment bank and for this reason, I decided that my nail polish will be moving and falling out of my desk. I used vine to record this video and then I uploaded to YouTube where I use the creator movie section to add the audio. The audio is available in the YouTubeĀ webpage and I choose it because I like it.

The Silent Suicide Squad

Yesterday, I was going through my things and found this gem. It is footage from theĀ Suicide Squad back when silent films were really popular. As you can see, the film is bit blurry and hard to watch. Probably from all of the wear and tear. If you look close enough, you see that the actors look rather similar to the ones in the upcomingĀ Suicide Squad movie. In fact, the clip itself looks almost identical to one of the recent trailers. It’s pretty strange if you ask me. I will continue to see if I can dig up some more clips of this lost film and get back to you guys.

For this four and half star assignment, I decided to use one of theĀ Suicide Squad trailers and edit it to make it like a silent movie. The only reason why I chose this over any other trailer is because I am a big fan of the comics and I am excited to see how it transfers over to film. To create this assignment, I used the program, Sony Vegas Pro 13. I’ve had it for awhile now and I have a lot of experiences using it in the past for assignments and just for fun.

Other than the standard and straightforward editing, I used some Film Effects shown below to make the project resemble a silent film.Untitled2I also used Film Grain as an effect to help the project look even older.

After 30 minutes of processing, I uploaded the video to YouTube and tweeted it out. It was bit time consuming, but it wasn’t all too hard.

I hope you guys enjoyed my video!

Akira in 13 Seconds

Tetsuo! Kaneda! Tetsuo! Kaneda! You hear those names frequently throughout this film. You even hear those names said more than Akira’s name. However, these two names tell a story. A story about friends, brothers almost, who are having a conflict and one them is trying to stop the other from being rampaging psychic monster.

For thisĀ four and a half star assignment, I decided to use the filmĀ Akira to tell the story of the film in 13 seconds like some of the YouTube videos I saw. We were talking aboutĀ Akira recently in the Graphic Novel course that I’m taking and having seen the movie, I figured Tetsuo and Kaneda calling out each other’s name from different parts of the film would be a perfect to tell the story in a short amount of time.

Creating this video project in Sony Vegas was fairly simple, I mainly used the Split tool to cut up pieces of the film and rearrange them in the order I wanted to.

Once I was finished with the editing and exporting of the project, I Ā uploaded it to YouTube where I gave it some description and a custom thumbnail.Untitled

I hope you all enjoyed the video!

DIY Product Commercial

DIY Product Commercial which is worth 5 stars. I choose to do this because for this week we have to involve our host character into at least four star assignments. I remember that one of the assignment of last or two weeks ago was to create a radio commercial for the radio show. I choose to introduce the product Magical Sphere Diary and to go alone it I choose to do the Magical Square Diary, I change it to square because I could not create a sphere out of paper. Also, I went to Walmart and because it is Halloween I bought one masquerade to hide my identity which is not really hidden my identity to well, Ā but I did not wanted to wear something that will offend any one or and specific race, so I left it simple.

Signing Words

Another video that I decided to create for this week is Signing Words which is worth 3.5 stars. Ā I choose this assignment because I think that it is important for us to understand at least the basic of sign communication and to raise awareness about the difficulties that deaf and mute people go through life. While I was doing this assignment I got a sign alphabet in one of my windows for reference and I did trials before recording. However, it came up choppy because I am not use to do it. I do not know how people can carry on a whole conversation just using signs. In one of high school classes there was a deaf girl, she could not hear , she did talk but it was difficult to understand her at the beginning but I got used to listening to her and to talk slow so she could read my lips. I wish I was mature enough at that time to take a little bit of my time to try to learn how to use language sign with her.

I used YouTube video recorder and I choose one of their music track to add music to the video. The music makes me remember to the cartoon music when a character was doing something that he could not do right or something goofy. I choose it because I was sloppy in the sign language but I do not mean to offend anyone. I just felt clumsy trying to said Hi ds106 my name is Melissa!…

Copilation Video

This video assignment is a compilation video and it is worth 3.5 stars. I went only and got a couple of video of the olympics and a basic video for skiing. I choose olympic videos because they are awesome, and I end it up as a beginner because I thought it will be funny. Then I use iMovie to do the editing which it took me 30 minutes to figure it up. Then iMovie have awesome music library which I use to put a background music. This program allow me to detach the audio of the video without any problem. I choose ski because I love to ski and because the weather is kind of cool now. So skiing down the hill is awesome and it fit my needs to go skiing this winter.
