A Few of My Favorite Assignments

For this assignment (3.5 stars), I put together a video of my favorite assignments I have created so far. I went through all of my old posts and tweets and picked my favorites. I decided to overlay my picture assignments with my audio assignments. I liked the idea of this because it allowed for the audio to have visual. I really liked getting to look through all of my old work and seeing how much I have done in this class! I downloaded all me media from my blog and took screenshots of my tweets. I used iMovie to create the video and put everything together. I then uploaded it to youtube.

Until next time,

Assignment Bank #DS106 (4 Stars)

did “Digital Story Compilation” Video Assignment.

In this assignment he had to grab everything you’ve done DS106 related (picture wise) and put it in a video.

I had used Adobe Premiere Pro and Microsoft PowerPoint.

I started off with Microsoft PowerPoint to get my images all linked together and sized properly. I then saved it as a WMV or Windows Media Video. This turned all the images into a compilation in the order I wanted them. I then went to Adobe Premier Pro to bring in songs that were copyright free and added some sounds in as well. This made the video better to watch then just pictures scrolling by.

My final result is below.

If you want to try it yourself and do way better than I did, you can find it here, http://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/digital-story-compilation/

Sequence 01

Video Assignment – Digital Story Compilation

For this assignment, you create a video montage of your favorite assignments that you have done so far. I decided to compile all of my assignments dealing with my character, Luke, and put them in one video.

First off, the music I chose is Ecstasy of Gold by Ennio Morricone, featured in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I downloaded all the assignments I could feasibly put in a compilation video with background music; I excluded only a written assignment and my barbed wire commercial, but I gave it a nod with a picture of barbed wire and the logo for our western news show. I set each image after each other in Premiere Pro, got rid of any audio that might have been in the videos, and dropped Ecstasy of Gold in the background. I like how it came out, but I wish I had more character work to show.

I made this in Windows Movie Maker.

Digital Story Compilation (Digital Storytelling Assignment)

Here is my video for one of the digital storytelling assignments. I gathered all the photos that I took for the daily shoot assignment and edited them into a video. Although each photo is a crap taken by my poor mobile-phone camera, with a great help of good background music, a series of photos generates a certain kind of atmosphere of where I live and what I do everyday. It was good that I could “reuse” what I’ve done earlier for the class and attach another meaning to them. I hope you can also feel a bit of my not-so-exciting school life in Tokyo.

Video Assignment – Digital Story Compilation

Using the Sony Vegas Pro 10.0 trial again, here is my digital story compilation! I used the media generator to make what were pretty much the slides with titles before each assignment came up, played around with some transitions they had available and added an audio track to play throughout. It may sound weird having the audio come back on where it left off between where it cuts off for the radio bumper and the movie trailer mashup. Maybe I shouldn’t have brought the song back in there. Also long outro just because I like the song!
