Booty Werk!!

For my final video assignment for the week, I chose to do the animal dance off assignment! I really enjoyed doing this assignment! I knew exactly what animal video I was going to use too. I remember seeing this corgi butt wiggle video a long time ago when Vine was still around, and I knew I had to use it. So I went to YouTube to find it. Of course, the two songs I was thinking of using had already been used, so I had to think of a new song. I really hope you enjoy this little video. It always makes me laugh. I mean, come on, look how cute that doggie is!

The Making: First think I did was download the corgi clip and the audio clip from YouTube using a 4k video downloading app. I think opened OpenShot Video Editor and uploaded the two clips. Next, I stripped the audio of the corgi clip and I faded out the visual in the audio clip for the duration of this video. I also cut the audio clip to the certain part of the song I thought went best with the corgi clip. I then, uploaded the finished product to YouTube. I gave credit to the two clips I used in the description box by naming and giving the link of the two clips.

Animals Dancing

My first assignment of the week was 4 stars! I picked a bunch of clips of animals dancing and put them in my In Shot App on my phone, trimmed, spliced, and added background music! I thought the Mexican music fit well because of the tempo so I just went with it. I tried to branch off and not only use dogs too even though that was the first in my mind. Trying to pick a song that went with the tempo of them dancing was also a little hard, but it came out good I think.

I loved this one and think it was actually pretty funny.

I LIKE EM’ BIG… (Assignment Bank #22)

Animal Dance Off

Find any song and mash up a video of some animals dancing.  Try to get the animals to move to the beat.

BEHIND THE SCENES

I chose this assignment from the assignment bank because I love animals! Specifically, I looove cats. This big juicy boy has been on my mind for a while, and recently a song has been tickling my funny-bone a lot. I thought what could be better than combining the two together?

You may argue that this doesn’t count as a dance. I politely disagree. Just look at that strut! The masterclass of confidence and pride that comes with those steps…that’s better than a dance by far!

STEPS TO SUCCESS

— Redownload iMovie

— Download the video I needed, as well as the song.

— Cut the video and music down to a point where it seems natural and brisk.

— Process the video and save it as an MP4

And that’s about it! This project was quick and easy, relatively painless too! It seems like a nice time , and it is! I’d have fun doing it again. Until next time!

Animal Dance!

Stars: 4

The toughest thing about his assignment was finding a good video to put music to. Then I remembered for the longest time, there was a Peacock Spider commercial on TV and remembered that they do a funny little dance. That is when I decided to put music to this video. I do not want to give away anymore spoilers but this assignment was funny! Hope you enjoy!

Animal Dance Off

For this assignment we had to find a video of an animal dancing and put music over it. I decided to look up corgis because I think they are some of the cutest dogs. Here is the video I made:

Dolphins love Taylor Swift

This assignment worth 4 stars was to create a video of animals dancing to music. My first idea was Shake It Off by Taylor Swift and the “birds of paradise”. So I got to work!

First I looked up a YouTube video of Shake It Off and then I converted it to a sound file which I would later put into Windows Movie Maker as background music. I then looked up videos of Birds of Paradise dancing, but most of them couldn’t be downloaded. So I began looking through other videos. I found this really good video of spiders dancing to YMCA so I thought I would share.

Again I downloaded the You Tube videos with a downloader. However the birds of paradise one wasn’t able to download. So I started looking for other animals. I decided on dolphins and downloaded a half an hour performance from SeaWorld which I then went through and cropped. The video was approximately a half an hour long, so I had to get rid of a lot. I copied different parts that I wanted to show up multiple times throughout the song. I then added music to the video clips I had and rearranged them to make them cohesive with the song. I think this turned out really well and I’m really excited to show it off!

Animal Dance Off: Sorry Dancing Puppy

Animal Dance Off: Find any song and mash up a video of some animals dancing. Try to get the animals moving to the beat. (4 stars).

For this assignment, I was to find an animal dancing and add music to it. I used Justin Bieber’s Sorry song, and a video of a cute Chihuahau puppy dancing. I converted both of these into mp3 and mp4 using Fltvo, respectively, in order to put them into my iMovie. I inserted them both, and then turned down the volume in the puppy video so the song would be amplified. I tried to make it seem like the puppy was dancing to the music in my video. I inserted a title page and a credits page using iMovie. It really is a great editing software, and you can see I use it for all my assignments that involve video.

This was a fun assignment, but I had a hard time finding a video of an animal dancing. A lot of the videos on YouTube were compilations, meaning they had a lot of videos of animals dancing into one, but the individual ones were only a few seconds long! Once I was finished editing using iMovie, I then uploaded it to YouTube:

Bird Losing His Mind. Up In Here, Up In Here

The next video assignment that I decided to do was Animal Dance Off. The goal of this assignment was to take video of an animal(s) dancing and put it to music to make it look like the animal is actually moving to the beat of the song. To start on this, I started by browsing YouTube for funny videos of animals dancing. I ended up finding a big compilation of many animals dancing, and it included a video of a bird dancing that I really enjoyed. The next step was to think of the music I wanted to add to make the bird dance to. And to be honest, I got really lucky and thought of the perfect song instantly. The song I chose to use in this video was Party Up (Up In Here) by DMX because it really fits the movements and rhythm of the bird’s dance moves.

To create this video I gathered my clips using ClipConverter.cc.

I would’ve used KeepVid like in the past but it was giving me problems. ClipConverter works exactly the same as KeepVid, you simply copy & paste the link to the video in the given prompt and convert it.

I created and edited this video using iMovie. After starting, I simply added a few clips of animated text, then I added the video of the bird dancing. From here, I needed to add the music to the video and sync it as well as possible. As I got towards the end of the video, I realized the dancing style and movement of the bird changed to a more “head-bob”, rocker style dance and because of this I decided to add a new song. The song I chose to add at the end was Smooth Criminal by Alien Ant Farm because it starts out fast and works perfectly for the bird’s head-rockin moves.  So, if you would like to watch my video, here it is:

Overall, I really liked this assignment. I think I did a very good job with it, I definitely find it very funny. I think this assignment, again, helped test my creativity along with my video editing skills. It also really helped me get a feel for meshing audio with video and making them sync well.

This assignment was worth a total of 3.5 stars out of 5.

Giving me a total of 13 stars for the week. If you would like to view the assignment, you can find it here. I hope everyone enjoyed my video and is looking forward to my next ones. Have a good weekend my friends!

Hardcore Bear Fight

The Idea

A couple of weeks ago, one of my professors showed us a video of two bears fighting in a neighborhood in New Jersey. It’s a pretty tense thing to watch, and you can tell from their body language that this fight is a matter of dominance.

When I saw the assignment for Animal Dance-Off, I thought it would be really great to put this kind of animal interaction to hardcore music. Hardcore music has a lot of dances associated with it that are all pretty masculine and aggressive–mosh pits, circle pits, walls of death, etc. And this kind of music tends to be a masculine approach to heavy, emotional situations. This genre usually doesn’t have a lot of love songs; it’s a lot about being yourself, doing what you want to do, and staying positive. Of course, its presented with music that makes it possible for guys to get out all their angst while not losing an ounce of masculinity.

The Process

I downloaded the bear fight video and imported it into iMovie. I then imported D.R.U.G.S.’s “Stop Reading, Start Doing Pushups” from my iTunes library. I added a title screen as well as credits to the end. Then I had to adjust where it started so the bear fight would begin after the monologue at the beginning of the song comes to a close and the music really starts going. I also had to trim the video because there are parts where the camera moves or the person filming takes cover in his car. I just wanted it to be the bears fighting, so I had to cut out a lot. Also, the bear video was six minutes long and the song is only around two or three minutes long.

Here’s what it looked like once I had complied it to my satisfaction:

Then I saved the file and uploaded the file to YouTube.
