-Will Ferrell-

I chose Will Ferrell as my favorite actor. I have been watching him for years and think he is absolutely hilarious! I like every single one of his movies. I even named one of my dogs after a scene from, “A Night at the Roxbury”. My dog, Emillio, is named after the scene where Steve (Will Ferrell) is waiting outside of a club telling his story about how he met Emilio Estevez. I’m always outside yelling for the dog, E-M-I-L-L-I-O.

If you haven’t seen it, you need to check out his newest movie, “Get Hard”.

How this assignment was completed:

 1. Went to YouTube to download some of my favorite Will Ferrell movies/clips using YouTube video converter.

WF YouTube

2. Then I opened up iMovie.

WF iMovie

3. Imported the movies/clips of will Ferrell to iMovie.

Step 4. I cut and trimmed the videos I liked to smaller clips to make it a 60 second video. I just highlighted what I liked and dragged it to the project.

Jen Aniston Highlight Reel

For this assignment (worth three stars), we were asked to create a highlight reel for our favorite actor/actress.

I decided to do this assignment on Jen Aniston because I thought highlighting one of my favorite actress’ many talents, is necessary – I call her Jen because I feel as if we are close enough, where I can shorten her name.  She is one of my favorite actresses because of how she handles herself on and off screen.  She is very down to earth and very determined.

Not only has she starred in, and gained her fame in one of the most iconic TV shows of the 90’s, Friends, but is very humble and is an advocate for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.  Since starring in Friends, she turned her focus to movies.  She has starred in, mostly, comedies such as Marley & Me, Just Go With It, Horrible Bosses, We’re the Millers, and many more.

To do this assignment, I first googled how to take videos from YouTube and convert them to be used in Windows Movie Maker.  When doing so, I found a website that did such a thing.  All I had to do was find the video on YouTube, copy the URL and paste it into the website’s converter bar and click Catch!.  It then lead me to a new page that gave me the option to choose what I wanted to convert the video to.  Every time, I chose MP4.  The video would automatically download to my computer and all I had to do, was select the Add Video or Photo button in Windows Movie Maker and it would appear.  I did this for every video I added into the highlight reel.

In Windows Movie Maker, I added a Title page and Credits Page.  To create the Title page, I selected the Title button on the Home Tab and added in my text.  I changed the background color to a light purple by selecting the Background Color in the Edit tab.  I chose purple as the background color because I thought it reflected Jen’s personality – easy going and humble.  To create the Credits page, I selected the Credits drop down arrow and selected Credits.  I then added in my text.

While creating the highlight reel, the videos I selected had parts that were unnecessary to the highlights so I decided to cut them out of the highlight reel completely.  To do that, I selected where I wanted the clip to start and selected the Set Start Point button under the Edit tab.  I did the same thing for where I wanted the clip to end and selected the Set End Point under the Edit tab.  In addition, I added animations between each of the clips.  To do that, under the Animations tab, I selected the animation on the far right for each one.

I used the following videos for my highlight reel:

Hope you enjoy my highlight reel of Jen Aniston!

Queen Latifah Highlights

For this assignment (worth three stars), we had to create a video of a few of our favorite actor’s best scenes.

Queen Latifa is my (Ami’s) favorite actress. She portrays a wide variety of characters, but always a strong woman who loves herself. I wish there were more roles created for skilled, adaptable black actresses.

To create this, I found clips from various movies on Youtube and compiled them into an iMovie.

Highlight Reels

As I mentioned in my earlier blog post (Marilyn Montage) I’m  a HUGE fan of Marilyn Monroe. I can relate to her in so many ways, like how she felt she had to sell herself to get recognized. I took scenes from “Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend”, “Monkey Business”, and “How to Marry a … Continue reading Highlight Reels

Created Video Assignment!

The first assignment that I have created this week is a video assignment. The title of the assignment is “Favorite Actor/Actress Highlight Reel.” For the assignment students are suppose to create a 30 to 60 second highlight reel of their actor or actress’s favorite scenes from movies. I rated this assignment at 3 stars because it is not a very difficult assignment if someone is used to use software to create videos. But for those students who are not familiar with how to use the different tools and software to put videos together, this could be a challenging assignment.

I did complete this assignment, for me it was not very difficult and fun to put movie scenes together. I am very familiar with the movie software now and I know my way around the program in order to create this video. I can see thought, anyone who is just beginning out with video software this assignment could have some challenges. I did have fun creating this assignment and I think it turned out great.

One of my favorite actors is Gerard Butler, I think he is a very talented actor and can play a variety of roles from comedy to action. I have seen a lot of his movies and every single one I have seen, he has not disappointed. I have even seen some of his work with animated movies in How to Train Your Dragon. I also think he is a very funny actor he has a few comedies that he did great in. Every time one of his movies comes out I know it is going to be a great movie. That is what I tried to capture with this highlight reel, the variety of great roles he has played in from comedy, hero, and even the bad guy.
