Since U Been Gone

For this Video Assignment, worth 3 stars, we were asked to film ourselves lip syncing to a song of choice.  I chose Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone” as a fun video to do since a friend of mine recently went through a break up and she could laugh at this!  Also, when I was a freshman, a hall mate and I might have recorded a lip syncing video for fun one night to this song just for the heck of it, so I was able to relive those fun memories.  This song also, you cannot help but to belt it out!  It was hard to resist shouting it out while recording, seeing the point was to lip sync.  Also, the reason I am in the shower was because I thought about where is my favorite place to sing and dance, the shower.  90’s clothes are also always acceptable, so there is that!

So for this video, I simply used my webcam and had YouTube pulled up with “Since U Been Gone” playing in the background.  I then used Windows Movie Maker to do the opening and credits and add the video in.  I played around with adding the sound clip in to make it more audible, but for some reason I could not figure out how to get them to stay synced, so I stuck with the sound from the video.  So here it is, originally posted on YouTube!

I Will Always Love You

This assignment we needed to lip sync a song.  The first song came to mind was Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”  I thought it would be a fun song to do and also I want to prove to everyone out there that I was a better singer then Whitney Houston.  Growing up my parents told me that I could do anything but sing so I been trying my whole life to prove them wrong.  Even though I know I am one of the best singers out there I still am trying to prove that to other people. The probably know it also they just are jealous of my skills.

I would say that practicing for many years is what got me to the point I am at singing but that would be a lie. It is natural raw talent that I was just born with.  I recorded the video with a cellphone and placed a monitor with a lyrics right under the person who was recording.  After I noticed we recorded it upside down and the file size was to large to be uploaded so I imported it into Windows Movie Maker to turn the video right side up and to change the file size by changing the video quality slightly.

It was a fun assignment because I enjoy karaoke and flexing my singing muscles from time to time.

Terrible Lip Sync

For this Lip Sync Video Assignment we were supposed to choose a song that we like, and take a video of ourselves lip syncing part of the song. This assignment was fun, but it made me see that I have no talent at al lip syncing.

I thought Sam Hunts, take your time, would be fun to lip sync, but like I said I quickly found that that I should stick to my day job, but it was still a fun assignment. I had the song playing in the background on my computer, and then I took the video with my phone, I then uploaded everything onto YouTube and then uploaded it all here on WordPress.

Enjoy my attempt at Lip syncing. and also just realized that you can actually hear me in some instances, I was trying to lip sync most of it, and got lost in the moment. That’s part of recording, sometimes you don’t want to edit the mistakes because they are what make the video here.

Lip-Sync Along

Lip-syncing has become increasing popular and this is shown in the media. What was once frowned upon has now become a popular and fun way to sing along with your favorite song. Now’s your time to shine! Grab your brush mic and record yourself lip syncing along with your favorite song. You can record the video with the music playing in the background or silence the video and add the music to it in a movie maker program. Upload it to youtube or a similiar website. (If youtube gives you problems you can use a clip as long as it’s the chorus and at least 1min long). Most importantly, have fun with it!
