Watch the Growth

“Make a collage of something growing up, or growing bigger. Now this takes some time-you must have some video footage of the object, person, pet, etc. growing older. It can be a stop motion of a plant, or if you have puppy pictures and now a full sized dog, put them all together and make a collage of it! Be creative!”

Observe Something Grow

So when I saw this assignment, I immediately knew what I would do for it. I have been collecting videos and photos of myself through my transition and this seemed like a good time to put together a little ‘here’s how it’s going so far’ type of video. I am only seven weeks in, but I didn’t realize how much my voice really changed until I made this video.

I just put the clips together on iMove, added in some commentary, and it was good to go. I wanted to add music, but I didn’t want to obscure my voice, so it’s a little dry in the audio effect department, but I think the subtitles make up for it.

Glow Up Challenge

For this assignment, I once again decided to use the platform TikTok as I found it a super simple and creative way to create content. I had observed a challenge, the glow up challenge, and decided to create one myself. I was excited for this assignment as I had an excuse to look through baby and early childhood photos, which my family and I had a blast doing all afternoon (and has definitely delayed in posting my assignments). Either way, I had a lot of fun creating this video. I simply inserted the photos into the platform, then chose an original sound as my background music, and viola I created my second TikTok (and this one I made public). I then uploaded the video onto YouTube. I am having too much fun on this app.

One Time Around the Sun

I thought it would be fun to make a compilation of the pictures and video clips I loved that most from my daughter’s first year. I used open source music and used an app on my phone to upload my photos and videos. It allowed me to sort the photos and videos chronologically for the timeline of the year. It was easy to do, but the app was really finicky, constantly playing ads.

Balloon Growing Bigger

This assignment I did is called Observe Something Grow where you must make a collage of and video of something growing older or bigger, so I the object I chose do this for is a balloon. I recorded myself blowing a balloon up, and then I used iMovie to mute the video audio and add in some background music. I took pictures of the frames of the video to make the collage I made using Live Collage. This assignment was quite easy and enjoyable, and you can find my media below.

Wisteria Throughout the Years (Assignment Bank #24)

Observe Something Grow

Make a collage of something growing up, or growing bigger. Now this takes some time-you must have some video footage of the object, person, pet, etc. growing older. It can be a stop motion of a plant, or if you have puppy pictures and now a full sized dog, put them all together and make a collage of it! Be creative!

The following is video of Wisteria (my secret agent character) throughout various stages of her life! During the video, I talk about her design, what she was going through in that moment, and her life during those particular points of notice.

BEHIND THE SCENES

For this video, there was a bunch of preparation to be done. I had to imagine what Wisteria would look like during various stages in her life, and then I had to draw out those stages–with each drawing taking around thirty minutes.

Then, I compiled all of the pictures into a video, utilizing a perfect background song (Amy Winehouse’s ‘You Know I’m No Good’) that captures Wisteria’s air. Then, I added my audio commentary of the process, trying to capture Wisteria’s life and attitude through her designs as the ages progressed.

STEPS TO SUCCESS

— Start brainstorming

— Start drawing Wisteria’s various forms (baby, kid, teen, adult, middle-age adult).

— Color and ink these forms in a minimalist way to save time

— Add this pictures into iMovie

— Place the correct song in the background and change the levels so they don’t overpower the coming vocals.

— Place vocal commentary of the track

— Create the title sequence and credits for the video.

— Upload to youtube

That was about it! This was a very interesting assignment, and I hope I utilized it in a creative way that helped people to understand my character better. Until next time!

Watching myself grow

For this 5 star assignment I put up pictures from when I was a baby to what I look like now. I Enjoyed making this as I felt proud of myself for making it this far into my life. I really had to go far into my camera roll to find these pictures but it was so worth it. I realized I had a lot of soccer pictures from when I was a little kid/baby. I like to do this again and show my parents as they would love to so that. I put middle child by J cole because it was a good touch to the video assignment. Let me know how I looked when I was a little guy!

The Life of Leo (5 stars)

For this assignment it said to create a collage video of an animal or anything that can be shown as growing up. I decided to make a collage of my kitten, Leo. He’s such an adorable kitten and to look back at picture of when he was so so little and then now was something good to look back at. It brought back a lot of good memories from when he was a small kitten. Hope you guys enjoy.

The process for this assignment was basically the same as my previous assignment with the favorite moments in the last year video. I began by selecting the pictures I wanted to include. Then I put them in chronological order. After that I added in title screens to show how old he is and to break up the video. Once that was done I just needed to select a song to go along with the video. That was pretty simple to be honest. Since I was making a video of Leo growing up, I decided to use the song “Life Changes” because to me it seemed to fit perfectly with the assignment.

Talking to my 16 Year Old Self

I loved this assignment. This assignment allowed myself as my present day to me to give words of advice to my 16 year old self. I was able to get into every little detail about life and explain to him what he should’ve done and what he doesn’t need to stress about. Overall this was a very simple assignment and I hope you enjoy!

Minnie Mouse Comes to Play

For my last 5 star assignment for the week, I decided to make Minnie Mouse come to life and “grow”. I haven’t drawn her in a long time. I used to be really into cartooning and I don’t have the time to anymore so my skills have decreased like crazy. For this assignment, I wanted to go with the story of how animations are created. They are a step by step process to turn into something great. I actually know how to draw each of the characters from the Mickey movies because of one Disney cruise I took. I went to every single animation night where the creator of each character talked us through the process of that person creating the animation, and how to do it ourselves. I was 13 and the process has still stuck with me for each character. In order to draw this I have to think about it like a story because it is a process of growing the individual, adding on accessories, and making it come to life. This video can definitely help you guys to create these drawings to because I did it step by step. It’s easy to do and memorize and I’m sure you could even draw them better than me. What I did to create this assignment was I used my TikTok for easy video splicing to catch every single step. TikTok is a very easy application to use to get different video splices. At the end, I added Disney Music to give more meaning to the video itself. I hope you guys try to learn based off of my steps!! You can see this drawing process below.

The Life of Thor

Make a collage of something growing up, or growing bigger. Now this takes some time-you must have some video footage of the object, person, pet, etc. growing older. It can be a stop motion of a plant, or if you have puppy pictures and now a full sized dog, put them all together and make a collage of it! Be creative!

Assignment Bank- Video Assignments

This is my dog, Thor. My family adopted him in July 2017 when he was around a year old. He has grown so much since we adopted him, and I thought it would be fun to make a video about it!

In order to make this video, I imported all of the photos from my phone to my computer. In iMovie, I was able to just select pictures and videos straight out of my photos. All of the photos are in consecutive order so you can watch Thor get bigger and cuter.

At first, I was going to make a video showing my cats growing up. We adopted them in August 2015, so there were many, many photos and videos. I only had the first two years of them in a project, and it was already like five minutes long. I did not want the video to be that long, and it was hard to take out pictures, so I decided to show my dog growing up.

A challenge with making this video was trying to get the video at a good length. I did not want it to be too long and lose people’s attention, but I wanted it long enough to show him slowly growing up. I decided to keep the video as long as the song playing in the background (“Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley). In order to download the song, I used a YouTube to mp3 downloader.

I had a lot of fun making this video. It was fun to look at old pictures and see how much my dog has grown in the last (almost) two years. I hope you enjoyed the video!
