Video Assignment #3

Original Assignment…2 Stars:

This assignment was to “Create a video using some of your favorite pictures/videos that you have taken while in school this year! Add a wide variety of pictures from throughout the year. Make sure to add some music to the video before you post it!”

I again used TikTok! I really enjoyed making this TikTok. I got very nostalgic looking for photos for my favorite moments of college assignment. Each of these photos all of the memories that I hold dear to my heart.

The first photo was me on my first visit to meet the coaches for the University of Mary Washington Women’s Soccer Team as well as seeing the campus for the first time. Had to hit up Benny’s afterwards and it was Awesome. This day I remember calling my Aunt calling me that day and her saying ” I can see you there and you enjoying this.” When she said those words I didn’t believe her…. 3 years later I am about to be a Junior here.. I have made so many friends and I am so happy I decided to come here.

The rest of the photos go in order of when I took them. They include different Photo ops for birthdays and other such fun things. Also along with winning the CAC championship for our Conference this year. We won that game 4-0. Most likely was one of my FAVORITE days the whole year. The last photo is of one of my best friends and myself at our last public hangout before COVID hit hard:((

I miss my friends and can’t wait to go back to school and see them all so so soon:)

Love in the Time of Coronavirus

Hey, this is Sterling! Maybe this is clickbait since I’m not in a relationship with anyone. However, I thought I’d update my progress on my ‘seconds of the day’ project. Most of my seconds now revolve around my home life, and there is where I find love with my family.

My College Memories (2 Stars)

For my second assignment from the assignment bank I chose to make a video of my favorite college memories so far. This assignment was by far one of my favorites. Not only did it allow for me to re-live some of the best times but it allowed me to explore a new app for making photos into videos. For this assignment  I used a new app called Adobe Spark Video to create my video. I granted it access to my photos app on my phone and selected  the pictures I wanted. It put them into a video and I got to choose how long they appeared for. After everything flowed together it gave me a selection of background noises to choose from. I selected “right beside you” as the background because it was very happy and felt like warm wishes. If I were to do this again I would make it so it could be more than 25 pictures. The app only let you do 25 at a time and I didn’t have enough time to learn how to merge them together. I learned more about sound effects than I ever have before doing this project.

86,400 Seconds In A Day

‘Ello folk! This is Sterling. Hope you’re doing well. I’m sure you’ve heard of an app called 1SE, or ‘One Second Everyday’ where you record one second everyday. My friends have been doing it and they hooked me in November 2019. I’ve been doing my best to keep up with it, though there are certainly notable gaps.

The Fun before Rona

For this assignment, I had recently taken a trip with my close friends to Miami for Spring Break and wanted to make a mashup, as this is one of my favorite memories from college so far. I must stress this however, this trip was BEFORE the coronavirus outbreak. Luckily, my friends and I were still able to enjoy our spring break before the outbreak, as we had gone down to Florida the last week of February. We are all healthy and okay, and we’re now in quarantine in the comfort of our homes (as everyone should be).

I once again used iMovie to create this video, as I simply imported photos and videos from my camera roll. I didn’t use transitions for this video as I felt they weren’t needed. I was able to import music by downloading a lyric song from youtube, which I felt fit the vibe of my video. I downloaded the video from youtube by converting into a mp4 file.

This was one of the funnest trips I have taken and was even able to meet up with one of my closest friends who studies in Palm Beach.

Hope you all enjoy it!

This assignment is worth 2 stars.

I saw this assignment and knew I had to do it! It was bitter sweet when I was creating it because I am a senior and will not have the rest of my senior year at Mary Wash. (Thank you whoever came up with this!) These pictures are from freshman, sophomore, junior, and half of my senior year. I picked the song “Send Me On My Way” because I think it fits with whats all going on in the world. I used iMovie to create the video then uploaded it to you Youtube channel. I hope to have more pictures of graduation in there in the fall. I wish I was back at Mary Wash!!!

Favorite Moments in College

These are my favorite moments of my first semester here, at UMW as a Freshman!

Fall 2018

WARNING THIS VIDEO IS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY! WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK!

These are some of my best memories of my first semester of college condensed into a 4-minute video! Yes yes! 4 minutes of your life wasted! Don’t worry I promise you will laugh! If you don’t… WELP!

Featured in this video was my roommate Tala Saleh, one of my closet dude friends Nathan Garner, and my older sister Emy!

SOME BACKGROUND:

The story behind the ice cream was that I am gluten-free therefore, I am allergic to ice cream cones. And the UC doesn’t have to-go bowls for ice cream… SO YES! I used my hands as a bowl! It was very messy, and cold!

The water squirt was from my sister. She has this bad habit of squirting water at me whenever we eat at restaurants. It is very annoying!

The thing that was stuck in the tin was a freshly baked gluten-free brownie! For some reason, it would not come out of the tray!

Finally, the sock war. Yeup! My roommate Tala, got a concussion literally two minutes after that video! She fell back on her bed where her pillow was supposed to be… But instead of the pillow, she hit her head VERY HARD against the wall… NOT FUN. But it was hilarious!!!

oh yea… SHES OKAY NOW!!!

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed witnessing some of my crazy memories from my first semester here at UMW!

Best of College

This video project was fairly easy. I found my favorite images from college so far and added them to an album. I added the entire album to iMovie and made sure all of the transitions were smooth and the images fit to the screen. Lastly, I added a song I had downloaded on my computer that made me a little sentimental, and here it is!

Senior Year Photos

2 Stars

For this assignment I had to pick my favorite pictures from this school year. I really liked getting to go back and look at my photos and reflect on the laughs that were behind the scenes.

I also realized that I need to be taking more pictures! Its my last year here and I need to photos to help me remember all the good times I’ve had with my friends this year.

I found out that Dell has its own video editing program and it actually works really well! This was a pretty simple assignment, but I think the video does a good job!

A Video in the Life of Me (3 stars)

For this assignment I decided to do something a little different that one of the assignments that I found in the word bank. The original assignment said to make a video with pictures from your best moments in college. What I decided to do was make a video of some of my favorite moments that have taken place over the last year. Along with some things that mean a lot to me. Hope you all enjoy.

The process behind the video was to start in iMovie. From there I selected about 10 pictures that fit the description I had chosen for this assignment and put them in the order I wanted them in. After that I had to chose a song to play throughout the video. Next, I had to trim the song and lengthen the picture times to make the two match up. Then I added in transitions between each picture to show more of an effect. Lastly, once all of those tasks were finished I added an intro and closing caption to the video.
