For this assignment we had to choose a few words and find pictures of the words and then put them together and create a story.
I chose these words:
Dog
House
Green
Very
A
Had
The
I then went on Google and found images of those words, saved them, and uploaded them to iMovie. Once in iMove, I created a story sentence.
Here is the final product:
I am realizing now after I already created my video that I was probably suppose to find pictures of the words, not just the word as a picture…well I’ll just say I took my own approach to this assignment! I still think it turned out pretty cute with all the different typography!
PS: This was a 4 star assignment, 2 stars left for the week!
This assignment was one of my favorites. To complete it, we were supposed to come up with 5-10 words and then do a Google image search on the words we selected. When doing the image search, we were to choose the image of one of the first visible photos for the word. I chose to use words that described Deidra. After choosing the words, I began looking for images and screenshot the ones that I liked. Once I gathered the images, I put them in the order that I wanted them to go in and I imported them into iMovie to create the word video. Once I formatted the video the way I wanted to, I added a song form my playlist and added it to the background. This assignment was simple but enjoyable.
This week I will be sharing a more personal side of my character Fiery the Dragon. She has chosen to share her pets, her favorite season/ holiday and a few make – up tips. You will discover that she is just your average dragon. Lets get started. Below you will find some videos of her favorite things.
Pupper Appreciation 2 Stars
This is one of Fireys pets, Taco. He is a small dog full of fun and loves to listen to her stories. He follows Firey around wherever she goes. He is a good companion and keep her company when she is alone. There are so many good photos of Taco, it was hard to pick just a few for this video. Also, Taco has learned how to stay away from Fireys uncontrollable fires. Below you will find the short video of Taco, enjoy.
A Word… A Picture… A Story 4 stars
This is one of Fireys favorite times of the year. She loves the winter months full of snow. Her favorite holiday is Christmas because that is when all the family has come home to celebrate the season. This is also when she tells story after story about Christmas gatherings from the past.
Im A Girl 2 1/2 Stars
Make- up, a girls best friend. Firey is all girl when it comes to her make – up. She has a different look for every occasion. She loves trying new styles as well as using older techniques. So if you ever see a dragon with wild make up on, you will know it is Firey. This video show a few of her favorite looks.
1 Second Video 2 Stars
Firey also has a pet cat named Smokey, he is a rescue cat. She got Smokey when he was 2 maybe 3 days old. He had to be bottle fed, his eyes were not opened yet, he was all white and she didn’t know if he was a boy or a girl. Smokey loves to roll around on Fireys bed every morning. This cat is full of energy and runs around and plays with Taco all day. They make a mess but Firey loves watching them play together.
What Do You Love 2 Stars
Quilts. You can never have to many quilts. These are just a few that she keeps around for story time. Her friends and family can use them to curl up in while she tells stories. The quilts are also used by the campfire for campfire stories. Quilts keep you warm and surround you with love and that’s what makes them perfect for listening to one of Fireys stories.
I hope you have enjoyed getting to know Firey the Dragon a little better.
Hello, everyone! I would like to share with you the video I made based on one of our class’s video assignments, “A Word… A Picture… A Story…”:
The assignment asked that the student pick 5-10 words at random, find a picture to go with each word, and then put them all together in a video to tell a short story.
I went with the words “cat,” “teapot,” “beach,” “scooter,” “bird,” “tree,” and “music;” I searched each word on Pixabay and downloaded all of the pictures used in the video from there; then I edited them all together in the video editing app on my computer, adding the stock music already installed in the software. The only images that were modified in anyway were the very first and last two images–I changed the levels and added a blur filter over them. I had a bit of a hard time trying to figure out what music to score the video with, but I think the track I went with, “Rose Petals,” suits the overall tone of the story quite well.
The assignment also allowed the student to either write one sentence for each image/word, or to try to tell the story without any sentences–I decided to go with the former option, since I thought it would be easier to follow the story I was trying to tell, rather than make anyone try to glean anything based on the images, alone. I also thought that the story ended pretty abruptly, so I added the “It was a very good day” bit at the very end, to help wrap things up a bit more smoothly.
I decided that a little story about a cat going out would go best with the words I went with; I also thought it would be a bit more interesting and more fun to put a more, for lack of a better word, fantastical spin on an otherwise mundane story–i.e. having anthropomorphic animals as the main characters as opposed to regular humans.
Some might wonder why or how a bird and a cat are friends, when cats normally like to eat birds (even in fiction, cats and birds are often portrayed as being enemies), but I kind of like playing with expectations, plus I feel like making the cat and the bird enemies might break the relaxed, low-key tone of the story.
Chose up to 5-10 words..just randomly pick them don’t over think it just chose these words out of the blue. Then do a Google image search on these images and chose one of the first visible photos for the word..after you have chosen your words and your images put them together in video form and tell a story..include a sentence with each image to help guide your story or try and tell it without the sentences.
I edited this video using iMovie and all sounds are from iMovie.
The words in this video are: madly grubby steel hand hands valuable payment zesty crooked manager.
The sentence I tried to convey is: The madly grubby steel hand, hands the valuable payment to the zesty crooked manager.
I used a random word generator to give me the list of words (I did it twice and picked words I felt I could work with).
I’m pretty happy with the final product, the only thing I would have really changed is the music but I couldn’t find anything within iMovie that I felt fit. I also wasn’t sure what to search up online to try and find something better.
In this video assignment, the main objective was to choose 5-10 words and create a video putting images and words together! The rating for this assignment is 4 stars.
The words I chose were:
coffee, love, Chanel, glamorous, fashion, pearls
I am truly a girly-girl. Most of the things I think of in my spare time have to do with fashion and glam! It is no wonder why the words above came to my mind when starting this assignment! My main inspiration for this assignment came from the film Breakfast At Tiffany’swithAudrey Hepburn, one of my fashion icons. In the movie, she plays the character Holly, a New York socialite who falls for a man that moves into her apartment complex.
Hepburn represents many of my words that I chose in her actual life and in the movie. Hepburn’s breakfast in the morning is usually coffee and a croissant. She is no doubt a glamorous individual, always dressed up in the finest attires. One of her main style icons was Chanel, which she drew a lot of inspiration from in her fashion choices. Pearls were always a necessity for her and she always displayed elegance and class as she wore many pearl necklaces. Love is a huge part of the movie and her character Holly, falls hopelessly in love with the character Paul. Her hard-to-get personality clearly is displayed throughout the movie, but love is ultimately what she wanted.
The process for creating this movie was fairly easy. First, I picked out the images I wanted to use for the video on Google. Next, I picked out the song I wanted to use from Youtube and used this Youtube video converter to change a video into an mp3 so I could import it into my video:
Next, I opened IMovie, and dragged the photos I saved from Google into the IMovie and then started putting the words over the pictures for the video:
I then added transitions between the photos by selecting the transitions tab:
Next, I imported my audio file to play during the video by going to File-Import media- then selecting the file:
Position the music by using your cursor over the parts you want audio to play:
Finally, add your beginning and ending credits by selecting the titles tab and inserting them where you need to:
Export to Youtube with the Tab in the upper right corner:
Change your title and you are done!
This project was fairly simple yet time consuming to complete. I really liked that I had the option to decided which direction I wanted to take the theme and really make it my own. I liked that I added music from the actual movie into my video, it was an added touch.
This post really connected me to my love of fashion and beauty as well as my style icon, Audrey Hepburn! I hope you enjoy.
For this assignment, 5-10 words were chosen at random. These words were then google searched and an image for this word was chosen. The words and images were then used to create a video and story to mesh all these random words together! The 7 random words I came up with for this assignment are as follows:
All images came from google and the list was developed at random using my surroundings and whatever popped into my head. Music in the video is from iTunes. iMovie was used to create the video and then uploaded to Vimeo. This assignment was worth 4 stars.
Summer. It has always been her favorite season. She sits on the porch and admires the world around her. The birds chirp in the trees and the neighbors say hello as they walk by. She loves everything about days like this. There is nothing more relaxing to her. On this specific day, along with every other day this summer, the sunshine is blazing down and roasting everything in its path. This overpowering heat seems to bother everyone else but she doesn’t mind. She won’t get off the porch for a few more hours. Finally, her friends come over and they immediately head to the beach because what else would they do on a beautiful day like this? They all craved being by the water. Any beach, any river, any body of water. They didn’t care, they loved it. Their favorite spot was this little area of the river that not many people knew about. The grass was more green and the sky more blue, or at least thats how it seemed to them. They treasured this spot they had found last spring and go every chance they get. The last of them show up to their spot and she has a surprise. She got a puppy! They stay there for hours and think about how great their lives are on days like today.
Making this video, I used many different applications. I started by opening google. I sat on my porch for inspiration for my random word choices. After creating a list of words, each were googled and an image for each was selected. Images were saved on to my desktop and then uploaded into iMovie.
All images were dragged and dropped in the media section in the top left of iMovie. Once added into iMovie, I dragged them down into the story board in the order that I had chosen.
Videos were given an effect for how they would appear in the video by clicking “Transitions” in the top menu bar. Further adjustments can be made by clicking on the image in the top right corner and changing any of the settings from the menu bar above the photo.
Image length in the video was adjusted by dragging the edge of the clip in the story board to desired time.
Zoom pattern could also be changed when this transition was selected. Placement of the zoom for start and stop positions could be edited in the menu bar or clicking directly on image.
Title and end page were added by clicking “Title” in the top left menu bar and dragged into story board. Music was added by clicking “Audio” in the same par and choosing from a song from iTunes. Credit for the song I chose is Jubel by Klingande.
Once the final product was created, I went to “File”, “Share”, and then selected Vimeo. I linked it right to my Vimeo account and uploaded my video!

This was a really cool assignment!! I was to pick random words out and look up their picture on Google. Then, I created a video to form a story with these pictures of the words I chose. I randomly chose 7 words:
blue november love john allergy edit yawn
How random??
I was just sitting and decided with those words. All of the pictures I used in the video came from Google, and they are random too! I dragged each photo into iMovie, and added the Ken Burns effect on some words. This is a cool thing that you can add to any video assignment that moves an ordinary picture anyway to make it more interesting to see. I added Weezer’s Island in the Sun from Youtube to give the video a cool feel for the watcher/listener! I also added transitions between each photo in the video. You can find the transitions to the left of the timeline on the bottom. There are many to choose from! I also inserted a title page and a credits page.
There is a story here. I know the words seem random, but each assignment has some sort of a story.
The color blue represented November for her. The month was dark and cold, and she never went outside. She began to realize she wanted to change something about herself. She always yawns over her routine everyday she goes through. Her allergies kept her inside most of the time, away from people and the sun. There was a man named John who did begin to stop by her house occasionally. Soon, this was one of the only things she loved. When John visited, she was happy.
For this assignment I had to pick words that I could make a story out of and find pictures then create a video. I figured I would make something that I love most in life so I used the words 1. Margaret (I have to be included, of course) 2. love(s) 3.success 4. because 5. it 6. brings 7. diamonds 8.and 9. money. Little background on why this is my story, because my favorite things in life are money and diamonds and what better way to get them but by being successful. What does it entail for me to be successful? Well it could be from my job in art or my “other” profession
I thought using some meaningless words would not get the point across properly until I started thinking about myself “WWSSD” aka what would Sylvia Stone do? Then I got to thinking about my girls, my maNOIRpulator girls and our shenanigans. So the words I picked were (1) Crazy (2) Men (3) Get (4) Murdered (5) When (6) They (7) Sleep! Then of course, my final touch was adding a logo for my crew, the MaNOIRpulators. I extracted my music of course from YouTube, I’m a write not a musician, don’t get your thoughts twisted there, Big Boy.
