I’m pretty decent with photoshop, obviously not the best, but this is my attempt at this visual assignment. Definitely put my photoshop skills to practice!

Touch Grass

by Thomas Pulsifer

Based on Emma Cate Neves’ 5-star visual assignment prompt, “Earth,” here’s an image I’ve created using Adobe Photoshop. The number of letters in the words I chose ended up creating a lot more work, since it meant more blades of grass needed to be exposed through the mask, but I think that’s fair for a 5-star prompt. I chose the phrase “Touch Grass” because not only is it a joke among my friends, but it also makes perfect sense for the grass-related task at hand.

It can be a bit difficult to apply photography skills to art, but I did my best to implement the things I learned earlier this week. For example, I made sure the details were balanced. The ladybug and the dragonfly are evenly placed across the image, and as are the letters themselves. I also did my best to create a contrast between the lighter background and the darker, grassy letters. Overall, I think this visual assignment came out great, and putting it together was really fun!
