Steller is a really cool App! I didn’t know it existed until now but I had a lot of fun with it. I might try and use it to create something a little more serious next time. It was easy and fun to use!

For this assignment, I wanted to use the app to narrate a recipe. I wanted to do something relatively easy so as to make the final product look smooth and put together. I utilized the filters on my Iphone to get the pictures into good shape afterwards and made sure to take a lot of pictures throughout the process so that I would have a full and flowing story.
I decided to make sweet potato fries for my recipe; they’re quick, easy, and delicious. They also involve techniques that would photograph well and lend themselves to easy to follow tutorials. Screenshots of my process aren’t exactly available for this particular project since it was put together on my Iphone and not a desktop, however I will still narrate the entire process.
To begin, I needed to install the Steller app. I logged in with twitter as the assignment page suggested I do. I browsed some of the different themes available so I knew what kind of videos and pictures would fit well with them. Once this was done, I set to work documenting my process.
I used my phones camera to take both pictures and video of the various steps involved with making the fries. I uploaded all the images once I was done into the app and ate my fries while I waited. I than began the process of putting my narrative together. I inserted text pages between photos to explain the recipe and cooking times. Once I checked it over, I published my story to twitter and that was it! Enjoy!

Tell a “Steller” Story in the DS106 Assignment Bank under “Web Assignments” asked me to use the app for iPhone called Steller (warning: it only seems to work on iPhone. I tried it on my iPad and it wouldn’t open for some reason…)
I wanted to challenge myself to use a web based tool that I’ve never used before and man did I challenge myself? I’ve been working on this project now for 3 hours! But I had FUN!!!! I got to look through all my old photos from hiking and camping trips and decide which were my favorites. I needed to pick ones that would tell my “couch to mountains in 5 years story” in the best possible way.

With this app, my colleague Janelle was able to illustrate the story of the House of Noir group. She found a photo of each of the members to give the viewers a visual of who was a part of the House of Noir agency. Also, she presented photos of the general places we come from. For example, I am from the thriving city of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge was shown for this. She used this description on the second page of this Steller story:

This Steller story summarizes how the members of the House of Noir came from different walks of life with regards to our lifestyles and where we hail from. This is meant to show that when our collaboration occurs, it is an unstoppable and breath taking force. For this assignment I had to use the app “Steller” to make a story that includes pictures. I told a story that advertises “Headline Crime,” our news agency. It shows more of what the agency does. I chose a black and white theme to go along with noir and combined pictures and text to tell the story. Criminals beware, no one escapes the headlines.

For this assignment I had to make a story using the app stellar. The app was very easy to use. I just downloaded it and it gave me a quick tutorial of how to use it. I would recommend to anyone that they should download this app if they want an easy way to make a story.
I was searching through other people in ds106 to find a character to do a story with. I came across Rick Shannon. He is a cop who has had his brother and father killed. My character Ol Mick loves to solve crimes so he took over the case of finding out who killed Shannon’s blood line. Mick being the super detective that he is finds the guy and puts him in jail.
