OMG white after labor day.

Another AudioAssignment I chose to do this week was called, Multipersonality, worth 4 stars. I chose this because I thought it would be a fun assignment. I opened up audacity and went into the File tab and clicked on new template. I then pressed the record button and acted as if I were different high schoolers in the hallway talking about what a person was wearing. After each individual I stopped recording and then started a new recording, so each “individual” in the clip had their own section. I then played around with the pitch and depth to give each individual their own voice/sound to make them distinct. After I finished editing I went into the File tab and clicked on export, saving the creation as Multipersonality White after Labor Day. I then opened up soundcloud.com and uploaded the sound clip and added the tags: ds106, laborday, white, AudioAssignments, AudioAssignments91 and multipersonality.

I then had soundcloud make a tweet for the creation…

For this audio assignment, pretend that you are three to four persons having a regular conversation. Pick any scenario that you are comfortable with but make it convincing that there are different people within the conversation. ie: at the dinner table you have a little girl, a hick father, with an Asian mother talking to each other: create those voices. and HAVE FUN with it!

Visual Assignment #2 – 2 Stars

Here is my 2nd Visual Assignment for the week. Our assignment is to make a photo black and white and then have one color stand out; Splash The Color. You can view my submission on Flickr. I chose a picture that I took of my girlfriend at the park and decided that it would be cool to make the entire picture black and white and only have the color of the sky showing.

In the picture, you can see on Jackson’s shirt there is a little bit blue, but I’m happy that there isn’t much else that is blue except for the sky. I actually used Photoshop Express Editor to do this and found it to be a better tool than Pixl which is the last website that I used for my photo editing. What I like is that you can do all of this editing in the browser and not download any additional software. It wasn’t hard at all to apply the affect either. It’s one of the image editing choices and then you can actually change the color that you are having pop out as well. I could have gone with green, pink, red, yellow, etc. In essence, you can literally change the entire picture just by a little click of the mouse.

“When the storm surged and their pipe sanctuary was crushed, all hoped seemed to be lost for Stick Figure Person 1 and Stick Figure Person 2. Not only did their pipe of hope get destroyed but Stick Figure Person 2 was plunged into a most perilous situation! As the situation progresses, will Stick Figure Person 1 be able to save Stick Figure Person 2? Or will Stick Figure Person 2 be sent to a cold wet grave at the hands of merciless fate?”

This is my finished DS106 assignment for Stick Figures and Sticky Situations. I hope you enjoyed it! The plot I tried to come up with is really random, but you’re welcome to come up with your own ending in the comments section if you want!

Just for your information, I used Photoshop to put in these stick figures using the paint brush and that’s pretty much it!
