The original description for this assignment is “Pick a theme and download multiple videos from Youtube that fit the theme. Cut them up and create a compilation video by putting the clips to music.”

I am going to give a step by step walk through on how to complete this assignment. If you have any other questions feel free to comment!

The first thing you will need to do is go onto YouTube and find some videos that you want to build your compilation out of. Pick a theme and search for that in YouTube. Once you have found a few videos that you like. It is time to download them to your computer. In order to download them, you must use a YouTube Downloader. Just copy the URL from the Youtube videos and one by one paste them into the box on the downloader and download them.

Once you have downloaded your videos, it is time to start editing them. If you have a Mac, you can use iMovie which comes installed, if you do not have a Mac you will have to use a different program.

Open iMovie, and the first thing that you will need to do is Import your files.

Once you have imported all of your video files, it is time to start editing them to your liking. For this particular assignment, you must piece together a few videos along with music, and a title and credit sequence.

This is what iMovie will look like while you are in the editing process:

Highlight, and then drag the parts of each video that you wish to use from the gallery at the bottom of the screen to the editing area at the top left.

Here is where you pick what you want your title and credit scenes to look like. Add your own text to each one.

Once you have done all the necessary editing and spliced your videos together and your title and credits added. You must export your files onto your desktop so that you can upload them to YouTube. In order to export your files, you to go File-Export-Export Movies. Then choose the destination as your desktop, or anywhere that you can easily find them.

Once you have done that, go to YouTube, log into your account and click Upload.

Now wait for your video to be uploaded to YouTube, and share it with the world!
