“How To Make….”

For this video assignment I am making a tutorial video of how to make ramen noodles. For people who have not made ramen noodles, its a quick & easy process to demonstrate . This concept is ideal for college students who do not want to spend money on fast food every night after studying so they choose the easy way. I recommend this meal for everyone not subjected to only ‘college students”.

Assignment stars: 4.5

One part of my story was to add an interactive video to it. I creating a video in which a dinosaur is thinking about the thirsty crow story. It was a bit challenging to find a specific tool in any photo editing software that will help me put a video into the thinking box or callout of an image. I had to come up with my own way of making it happen to create a video effect in which we can see what the dinosaur is thinking. Following is a complete video tutorial on getting it done. I would like to thank BenSound for the music.

Or you can follow the following steps:

Step 1: I put a thinking box or a callout onto your image of the dinosaur. I used Windows Paint it to do so.

Step 2: Then I opened the video that I wanted the dinosaur to think of and resized it to fit the thinking box or callout.

Step 3: I played the video in the thinking box or callout and recorded it with the image of the dinosaur with the help of IceCream screen recorder.

Step 4: The IceCream screen recorder automatically saves the video after you press the stop button.

Working with Movie Maker

The two assignments I completed with movie maker:

How to/tutorialHere’s a link to the video

hobby/videogamesVimeo link

These are the tools I used to make my video assignments.  First, let’s talk about the adding videos and music.  To add videos use this: add video

or drag and drop your video files onto your storyboard.  To add music use this:

ad muse

Cutting out the excess film from the middle of a clip.

use the Split tool:split

This tool splits the video at the exact frame you are on

line

To make choosing a frame more precise you may want to use these buttons:

framebyframe

they progress the clip one frame at a time.

choose a starting and an ending point, split the clip at those points.

Once you have the section you want to remove, click on it to select it then press the remove button:  remove  you can find it in the home tab or by right-clicking the clip.

you can also use the split tool to add transitions or blank frames just for text:

blank with text

Transitions:

trans

click on the clip you want to transition too, then choose from the options in the toolbar.  You can hover over them to preview what they would look like.

Adding text

in your home tab, there is a caption option

caption

click on this to add text anywhere in your film.

you can change the font in the format tab with the text options

fonts

if you have bad audio quality in your video and you only want the audio/music you added to be heard go into the video tools under the edit tab, there you can click on this:

vid vol

then you can adjust how much sound is coming from your video file.

To change the volume of the audio you added, go to the music tools under the options tab and click this:

music

then you can adjust how much sound is coming from your audio file.

To add a pre-designed layout, intro/outro like on one of these options found in the home tab:

THEMES

when you choose one it will automatically place the slides on your storyboard, and you’ll have to edit them.  Simply click on the one you wish yo edit, and you’ll see the text on your video screen.  Click the text on the screen to edit it.

Extra Tip:

you can use the split tool on your audio as well, so if there is any profanity you can mute it out or remove it.

If your video is too large, and you want to upload to Vimeo use the premade setting they have when publishing or saving.  It may shoot the video quality, but without it, you may not be able to upload.  I ran into a lot of trouble with space availability for my videos because they took up too much space.

How to Video

For this assignment you are to make a tutorial video. It doesn’t have to be anything specific, just any type of “how to” or life hack video. Or, to make things more interesting try making a tutorial video on how to make a tutorial video.
