The concept comes from "Be Kind, Rewind", a 2008 comedy movie where two clerks in a video store accidently erase their inventory and attempt to recreate the movies themselves. To swede, choose a scene (or two or three) from a film and recreate it! Use your friends, family, or strangers to stand in for characters. Be creative finding or making props. Don't be shy in taking artistic license with dialog. Check out a sweded version of Jurassic Park

Have a conversation with yourself! Film yourself talking, then change clothes, hair styles, etc and then film the other half of the convo. Edit this in any movie editor program (I used Pinnacle movie maker) To overlap the two scenes so that you are talking to yourself! Play around, to figure out the most efficient way! Also, timing is everything in this! Make sure when talking to leave breaks for your other self to respond! Have fun with this!

Create a mini-documentary about someone who is fascinating. Don't pick your best friend or a close family member. Find someone from your community with a great story to tell. Make this your BEST POSSIBLE work; we're talking broadcast quality (ok, maybe only broadcast on public access TV, but still you get the idea.) Use the video medium to show us the essence of who that person is. Preferably, depict this person in their natural surroundings. Use an establishing shot to give us a sense of place. Use cutaway shots so we can get more information about how that person works ...

Video was the new frontier for teaching in the 1950s and you can find rich (and funny) examples of educational videos of that era. In this assignment make a 5 minute or less video of a modern topic in the vintage style of these films. Include elements like cheesy music, titles, cut out graphics, booming voice to make something educational. As an example see How to Be Cool: an educational film

You'll need a camera. And you'll need another frame. Hold the frame in one hand (don't let you hand cover the side facing you), and take a picture with it in the center of the image. Then step backwards and take another photo just like it. Repeat until you are tired of making art. Nest the images in Prezi inside the frame of the next picture. Now make a zoom path. Record it with video capture software. Add some video editing (you'll have to use multiple stacks(only so much zoom in Prezi atm) and splice the ends of them together ...

Sometimes pictures can say much more than words. A diagram can provide the "aha" effect to help the readers better understand the written text. However, a video can be the happy medium to combine the two. For this assignment, find a written explanation of a concept and a simple illustration/diagram that further clarifies that concept. Then make a movie combining the two. Here's an example: http://blog.neverthesameriver.com/?p=1212

On Seinfeld, the astute George Castanza noted "If you take everything I've ever done in my entire life and condense it down into one day....it looks decent." -- if you take everything you have done in a day and condense it down to a video... it looks decent (or better). Create a video that shows your entire day that compresses your day into a video no more than 10 minutes long (bonus points for making it 5). Capture bits of your day in video or still photo form, and edit as a movie. Include titles, time stamps, and background music. ...

Find a movie that you can create an alternate ending for- make a video, recreating the scene and the characters, that plays out a different way the movie could end. As an example, see these re-filmed endings for Rear Window or Braveheart As a reference, including either a clip of the original film or a screenshot.

This was inspired by the "Draw a Western Themed Movie Trailer" assignment!Create an animated trailer by using a program like Procreate, Photoshop, GIMP, etc. Draw each panel individually and loop them together to make at least a 30 second clip. You can either work to make the entire trailer by animating it all in the same project, or make several smaller ones to make a trailer. This is a time consuming process but it should be very rewarding in the end! Finish the entire thing by adding some music and uploading it!
