Your very own Spubble

_cokwr: Learn to love yourself, grab a picture of yourself in which your body language, actions, gestures, etc. suggest one thing and then play off that using a speech bubble. Ideally the result would make people laugh---but I must acknowledge there are other possible emotional responses that may be just as acceptable. Think of it as lolcat, save it's a human (namely you) and there is nothing compelling anyone to abuse the letter z in the speech bubble text. Picnik.com or Aviary.com would make this assignment dead simple., _cpzh4: Visual, _cre1l: http://bavatuesdays.com/files/2011/10/Picture-14.png, _chk2m: Jim Groom, _ciyn3: 190, _ckd7g: , _clrrx: , _cztg3:

Find your voice

_cokwr: The best blogs are ones that express a person's personal voice: whether that be their sense of humor, wit, likes, dislikes that sort of thing. Find an example of a blog where the author's voice shines through their posts and give a reason of why you like their posts. See if you can use this to inspire your posts during the semester. , _cpzh4: Writing, _cre1l: http://blog.oldmansweaters.info/?p=28, _chk2m: Catherine Mohr, _ciyn3: 96, _ckd7g: , _clrrx: , _cztg3:

Seven Deadly Sins: Barbie-Style

_cokwr: Grab your old Barbies, grab your child’s, buy a new one, or go to GoodWill or something. Would prefer it if you didn't steal it. Wouldn't want to be committing one of the sins as you were setting up the photo, would you now. ;) Then, take a picture of a scene with 1 or more Barbies demonstrating one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Lust, Greed, Wrath, Sloth, Gluttony, Pride, and Envy. Do all seven or just one. Take a photo and upload it to Flickr (label it the sin), post it on your blog, and tag it as requested. Explain your process and how you got to the final scene if you choose to do so., _cpzh4: Visual, _cre1l: http://nogoodadvice.somethingkindaooooh.com/2011/03/08/seven-deadly-sins-barbie/, _chk2m: callean/Call_lean, _ciyn3: 97, _ckd7g: , _clrrx: , _cztg3:

Replay value

_cokwr: This is one for the gamers. Tell an original story/scene by reappropriating screenshots from your favourite game! How? Here's some ideas: Overwrite the text/add elements to the picture/"fake" screenshot art!, _cpzh4: Visual, _chk2m: mome, _ciyn3: 194, _ckd7g: , _clrrx: , _cztg3:

Movie Voice Machines

_cokwr: Create a voice mail message for a character in a film or tv show. Use samples, impressions, and/or music to create your message., _cpzh4: Audio, _cre1l: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOqMR0zW8xo&feature=related, _chk2m: Michael Branson Smith, _ciyn3: 196, _ckd7g: , _clrrx: , _cztg3:

Phake Tweets

_cokwr: Use the Twister tool from ClassTools (http://classtools.net/twister/) to generate a series of images representing the voices of past figures if they could express themselves in twitter. Notch it up, and recast a historical event with a new plot line, and notch it up again, but making it a back and forth between two figures (use @person!) - my example is not developed as a fanfic, but should give you an idea of what to do (okay, okay, I will do a real assignment, sigh)., _cpzh4: Fanfic, _cre1l: http://cogdogblog.com/2011/03/17/phake-tweets/, _chk2m: CogDog, _ciyn3: 99, _ckd7g: , _clrrx: , _cztg3:

SuperHero – Super Villain Your Friends

_cokwr: Turn your friend into a superhero or a super villain by preplacing an existing character's head with your friends. Or mix and match any variety of body parts, super powers, etc. for effect. Also consider adapting a character's quote to suit your friend's personality and include it in the image., _cpzh4: Design, _cre1l: http://yfrog.com/mfr95xij, _chk2m: Michael Branson Smith (for CogDog), _ciyn3: 198, _ckd7g: , _clrrx: , _cztg3:

haiku it up

_cokwr: For the writing assignment, take a random Dailyshoot photograph and create a haiku using that image. Let the image inspire you to create a poetic haiku. Don't know what a haiku is? The most common form for Haiku is three short lines. The first line usually contains five (5) syllables, the second line seven (7) syllables, and the third line contains five (5) syllables. Haiku doesn't rhyme., _cpzh4: Writing, _chk2m: anagahama, _ciyn3: 104, _ckd7g: , _clrrx: , _cztg3:
