the 4 icon challenge ds106

Please say that I only used 4 icons.

This assignment was to take one movie
and represent that movie in 4 simple icons.

The thing is,
I couldn’t think of any movie.

The first few movies that came in mind were
all disney movies.
But I couldn’t come up with any idea for icons.

I wonder how many times I asked myself:

Are you really majoring in art?


The answer is,
unfortunately,
yes.

I lack idea.

So, I decided to think differently.
Not “art”,
but “how to explain”.

And I came up with our good old friend,
charades.

When you play charades,
you have to be able to “show” the word in some simple actions.
I somehow thought that charades and this assignment is similar where
you have to be able to “show” the movie in some simple icons.

I playback my memory…
back in middle school…
we played charades (in class, I don’t remember why)..
I drew a card…
I read, “Matrix“

Everyone got it when I did the action for the 2nd icon,
but here it is.

I hope everyone understands. haha.

The Four Icon Challenge!

I drew some symboles of a famous movie. Can you guess what movie is this?
I think many of you cannot guess what  the lower right one is because of my bad drawing…
Though I tried to draw a huge chandelier, it was so difficult for me!

I used paint only.

I chose this one for my very first ds106 assignment.
Here is my work. What movie this is? It is actually a series of movies but… anyway can you guess??

If you could guess, you might be a fan. If you even can tell which episode it is, you might be a BIG fan.

?How I made it?
1) Draw icons.
2) Put glow effect on icons and light sa……. something.

I used Adobe AfterEffects.

This is supposed to represent a movie that was released end of the 80′s and is set in a prison…
Maybe this is a clue:-)

For this assignment I used aviary/vector editor to bring the pictures together. It’s a web based photo-editing app that is easy to use.

              Assignment : Reduce a movie, story, or event into it’s basic elements, then take those visuals and reduce them further to simple icons.                                                              I though i chose something a little simple as well as current. I’m pretty sure most of you humans can figure out the story. So then tell me ??

Can you guess what movie this is? not my best artwork but its to the point.

I’m pretty sure about you guys will easily figure out what film I’m talking about here! XD

Assignment from the 4 Icon Challenge. 
The model of this 4 logos are “Legend of Zelda”-Ocarina of Time

Triangle: Stands for the Triforce, the main item on the Legend of Zelda.
 The hero and the victem would fight for this Triforce.

Fairy: Model of “Nabi”, the fairy that stays with “Link”, the main character in this story.
 It also gives advices to Link how to fight, move, and go to the next step.

Sword and the Bird: The swords stands for the “Master Sword”, witch is the sword
 that Link only could use, and bird stands for “Kaepora Gaebora”
 Kaepora Gaebora is a very important character for this story, that would tell the truth
 and leads Link to his future.

Horse: Model of “Epona”, Links horse.
