My Spubble

This is the ds106 assignment called “Your Very Own Spubble”. To make this assignment I used a simple website called Picnik which was suggested by the assignment creator, it was really easy to get used to the website and it has great features, I suggest you to give it a try and I hope this picture will make you laugh!

Spubble

This assignment was pretty fun to do, and also very easy. I used Picnik to upload, crop and put the bubble and text all together.

My first Spubble

Ok, so this is my first attempt at a spubble for my first DS106 assignment. A definition of is spubble is when you take a picture of yourself in which your body language, gestures, etc. suggest one thing and then play off that using a speech bubble. To find out a little more detail about the assignment click on the this link “Very Own Spubble.” A little background on the picture. It was taken while I was in Osaka and going up this ridiculously long elevator to get to the top of this observation deck at in one of the tallest buildings in the city. I guess if I do any other assignments like this they will be about my travels while out here in Japan.

Spubblin’

Train Sleeper

I decided to do the Your very own Spubble assignment from ds106 in the visual category. Although I’ve already done a visual post, I decided to make another because this sounded like fun.

First, I had to select a picture. I was originally thinking of using a picture of me playing bass guitar but couldn’t come up with a caption. I looked through other pictures of me and decided to go with this one. I knew I had to use it and make a joke about playing Angry Birds. This picture is of me riding the train home from school. I was playing Angry Birds on my iPhone when all of a sudden I felt this person on my shoulder. I actually was so surprised by it that I shot a bird backwards out of the slingshot. I thought it was really funny so I snapped a picture. The look on my face is due to the fact that I’m trying not to bust out laughing about the whole situation. Although this sort of thing happens a lot in Japan, this was the first time it had happened to me. She slept on my shoulder for close to 30 minutes. I was hoping she had not missed her train station but she woke up in time it seems. I’ve noticed that after taking the trains for a while you kind of develop a “station sense.”

So, given the situation, I thought it would make a funny Spubble. I downloaded the picture to my desktop and then loaded it to Picnik. Picnik has some fun photo editing options. The only problem I ran into is I couldn’t get layers to go on top of each other unless I did them in order. Basically, I first typed the text and then tried to put the speech bubble under it. If there is a way to do it, I was too derp to find it. So, I deleted the text and rewrote it and put it over the speech bubble.

After it was finished I saved it to my desktop and uploaded it to my flickr. Then I typed this junk out and now you’re reading it. Fin.

My Spubble: can’t we just do this online?

The assignment was to use yourself like a LOLcat, make fun of yourself. I’m kind of known for disliking on-campus meetings, even when I’m leading them.

My Very Own Spubble…

I’m just a little hungry… lol

DS106 Spubble

So trying to get into the DS106 project. I have just finished my first attempt at a spubble. It kind of seems like a Meme. Using Picnik it was pretty easy. It took only a few minutes but it was kinda of fun. Probably most of my posts will be bike related and have bike humor so maybe not everyone will get it but I hope everyone will enjoy it.

Somewhere in Shibuya . . .

Assignment: Your very own Spubble

Picture was taken about 2-3 years ago, so old pair of glasses is old.  Plus they’re broken anyway.  This was taken place in Shibuya, an I believe it was my first time visiting the place.  I am not good with directions at all, so I do tend to wonder off and get lost very easily.  I’ve been to Shibuya a couple times already, and I still get lost. Hahaha . . .

Progress:  I’ve looked through dozens and dozens of pictures of myself.  Through Facebook and through my camera, I’m usually using the same pose.  Standing or sitting while smiling.  There’s the occasional peace sign but that’s just it.  But I remember another place where I have stashed my old photos, and yes, it’s my myspace account.  Gasp. And here’s the another shocking thing, I actually remember my myspace password.  More gasping. Hahaha.

So anyway, I looked through my old photos in my myspace, and I finally came across this.  It’s perfect for this assignment, (fun fact: a lot of people thought that this was taken spur of the moment, but it’s not.  I was actually posing, believe it or not.)

Then, it was given the photoshop treatment.  Created the spubble and text on Photoshop CS5.

On spubbles and tigers and bears, oh my!

ds106 assignment on spubbles. Stay away from tigers ‘kay :( Oh and I lied about the bears. No bears here.. >_>

Spubbly Me

While I generally do not like spending a great deal of time with photos of myself, I was compelled to try Spubble assignment because I needed a good reason to use Aviary and Picnik. If I didn’t have Photoshop I would use these for sure for Messin’ with the McGuffin assignments or Triple Troll Quotes. They were so easy and fast to use without a login. Simple!
